Once-raced filly. Ninth of 12 in minor event at Lingfield (8f, AW, 50/1) on debut 16 days ago, not knocked about. Probably more one for handicaps further down the line.

Foaled January 11. Almanzor filly. Dam 1¼m winner (bred to stay 1½m) out of useful 1¼m/10.3f winner Queen of Pentacles. Top yard can ready a newcomer and market should point the way.

Once-raced filly. Tenth of 13 in minor event (40/1) at Newmarket (7f, good) on debut 48 days ago, slowly away. Looks more of a long-term prospect.

Foaled March 17. 140,000 gns yearling, Sea The Stars filly. Half-sister to 1½m winner Colonial Love. Dam, 7f winner, half-sister to top-class winner up to 1m Canford Cliffs. Lots to like on paper.

10/3
Foaled March 19. Galileo filly. Dam winner up to 1¼m (Prix Saint-Alary, also 2-y-o 1m winner). Every inch a likely-looking type and confidence behind her in the betting would look significant.

Once-raced filly. 25/1, fifth of 6 in minor event at Leicester (6f, heavy) on debut 53 days ago, slowly away. Significantly up in trip and big step forward needed here.

Twice-raced filly. 20/1, third of 12 in minor event at Lingfield (8f, AW) 16 days ago, clear of rest. There should be races to be won with her, most likely when going down the handicap route.

Forecasts

Morgan Fairy (13/8), Makkari (10/3), Follow That Star (9/2), Snap Ambush (11/2), Lovers' Lane (13/2), Presently (25/1), Scarlet Willow (33/1), Dal Mallart (40/1), Kissininthebackrow (66/1), Nova Vida (250/1), Caramello (250/1)

Verdict

MAKKARI ticks pretty much all the right boxes and the hint should be taken if the market speaks in her favour. Lovers' Lane, also owned by Godolphin, and Follow That Star are fellow newcomers to note, but Makkari may have most to fear from Morgan Fairy, who was clear of the rest when runner-up at Wolverhampton last month and she should pick up a race before long.

  1. MAKKARI
  2. MORGAN FAIRY (IRE)
  3. LOVERS' LANE (IRE)
