Race-by-race progress over hurdles last term, making it third time lucky at Perth (16.2f) in April, asserting final 50 yds. Shaped as if amiss on chase bow/return (subsequently found to be coughing).

Made a bright start over fences last season, off the mark in this race a year ago. Trip too far next time and respectable efforts in defeat both starts this term. Big player back down in class.

Ran out an impressive winner on hurdling bow here in late 2019. Has struggled to make an impact since, however, and was well held on chase bow/return at Worcester when last seen in July.

Bagged deep-ground handicaps here (19.2f) and at Wetherby last winter. Not in same form in summer but step back in right direction when fourth at Market Rasen on return. Now dipped below winning mark.

Fair form in bumpers but has failed to make an impact in a handful of runs over hurdles/chases. 4 lb out of a handicap.

Forecasts

Out On The Tear (11/10), Relkadam (4/1), Coolkill (6/1), Full Of Surprises (7/1), Claret Dabbler (9/1), Cenotice (12/1)

Verdict

RELKADAM has been given a chance by handicapper and faces a far more suitable test back down in trip. He's fancied to take advantage at the main expense of last year's winner Out On The Tear, who hasn't been disgraced in a couple of class 3s this term. Progressive-hurdler Coolkill was found to be coughing on his chase debut/return so is well worth another chance.
