Shirocco gelding who knew his job when making winning bumper debut at Catterick (15.7f) last November. Never figured under a penalty on AW here in February but return to turf may help now.

Unplaced on completed start in points but better for bumper debut effort when taking Thurles bumper (2m) last month. Has since switched yards and further progress not ruled out.

Passing Glance gelding. Dam (b86) lightly raced in bumpers. Yard wouldn't be a regular source of winners in this sphere and likely best watched.

Prominent in the betting and showed something to work on when fourth in a bumper at Southwell in May. Needs to build on that.

Sageburg gelding from good jumping family. Shaped as though he'd come on for October's bumper debut fourth at Sedgefield (16.8f) so no surprise to see an improved effort.

Good Flat pedigree and showed plenty of ability in pair of bumpers for Micky Hammond earlier this year, runner-up in a C&D event in March. Not discounted startig out for new yard now.

€24,000 3-y-o, Doyen gelding. Dam unraced half-sister to useful chaser (stayed 4½m) Hello Bud and fairly useful but untrustworthy chaser (stayed 3m) The Musical Guy. Worth a market check on debut.

Ocovango gelding who offered little when last of 10 on debut in a Kelso bumper last month. Can only be watched on the back of that here.

£4,500 5-y-o, Schiaparelli gelding. Sent off at 33/1 and ultimately shaped like a longer-term project when ninth in a 13-runner Uttoxeter bumper recently.

My Risk gelding. Half-brother to fair hurdler Godomar. Hooded for debut but offered something to work on when third in an Ayr bumper in October, staying on gradually. Could build on that.

Saddex gelding who looked to learning as race wore on when midfield in a Bangor bumper (16.6f) in October, staying on from 2f out. Expected to build on that but this may prove a sharp enough test.

€2,500 3-y-o, Libertarian gelding. Dam unraced half-sister to fairly useful hurdler (stays 2½m) Big Chief Benny. Wears tongue strap.

Shirocco brother to a winner, and half-brother to 4 winners, including useful hurdler Teescomponents Lad and bumper winner Dance of Time. Yard know this family well and the betting should guide.

£20,000 4-y-o, Soldier of Fortune gelding. Dam (h85), point winner, sister to fairly useful but temperamental chaser (stayed 3½m) Theatre Queen. Placed on last of 3 starts in Irish points (May 8).

Sholokhov gelding. Showed a bit when midfield in deep Punchestown bumper only start for W. J. Burke back in April. Made very interesting yard switch and betting should prove a very useful guide.

Telescope filly who made a promising start when second in a Hexham bumper (2m) in October, coming nicely clear of the remainder without being given a hard time. Player in receipt of weight all round.

Forecasts

Watashock (4/1), Cerendipity (7/1), War Soldier (15/2), Try Teescomponents (15/2), Commander Of Ten (8/1), Clear White Light (10/1), Imperial Lord (12/1), Melvich Bay (12/1), Fingal's Hill (14/1), Ceolwulf (16/1), Big Arthur (16/1), Horacio Apple's (18/1), Fenland Tiger (22/1), Time For Heroes (25/1), Haut Berry (50/1), Ever Ready Eddie (200/1)

Verdict

The market should prove informative in relation to a number here but MELVICH BAY shaped promisingly when coming nicely clear of the remainder when second in a Hexham bumper in October and she gets the narrow vote in receipt of weight all round. Clear White Light showed plenty of ability earlier this year and is feared, whilst Watashock, Try Teescomponents and Imperial Lord are also respected.

  1. MELVICH BAY
  2. CLEAR WHITE LIGHT
  3. WATASHOCK (IRE)
