Put experience to good use to run out a ready winner of a C&D novice in September. Emerged best at the weights when runner-up in a similar event last time and must be respected on handicap bow.

Winner at Ascot in July. Creditable sixth of 10 on nursery bow at Doncaster (7f, firm) 61 days ago, very slowly away. Makes tapeta debut and still has potential for better if he can get away on terms.

Has improved plenty for the step up to 7f, following up his Yarmouth win at under a penalty at Newmarket (7f) 19 days ago. 8 lb higher now but could still have more to come at this trip.

Showed improved form to get off the mark in 11-runner maiden at this C&D (5/4) 42 days ago, staying on to lead final 50 yds. Opening mark looks fair and open to further improvement.

Came out on top in 8-runner novice event (85/40) at Redcar (6f, good to firm) in June. Off since but likely has more to offer now moving up in trip on nursery debut.

Forecasts

The Menstone Gem (5/2), Euraquilo (5/2), Lawful Command (7/2), Atrium (11/2), Master Richard (11/1), Skittlebombz (14/1), Flippin' Eck (22/1)

Verdict

EURAQUILO is likely to need further sooner rather than later, but he was value for a bit extra than the bare result last time and starts life in handicaps from a fair opening mark, so he shades the vote. Lawful Command hasn't looked back since stepping up to 7f and seems sure to go well again in his hat-trick bid, while Flippin' Eck and The Menstone Gem are other interesting rivals.

  1. EURAQUILO
  2. LAWFUL COMMAND
  3. FLIPPIN' ECK (IRE)
