Last year's John Smith's Cup winner who looked unlucky not to land a C&D handicap on yard debut in August. Tactical, small-field affair may not have suited at Doncaster since and not discounted.

Upwardly-mobile 3-y-o who scored on return at Newcastle (10f) and followed up in style on handicap debut at Newbury (10f) in May, Absent since but highly likely there is more progress to come. Player.

Useful gelding who added fourth success to the tally in a Hamilton listed event (11f) in July. Struggled in Group 3 next time but not beaten far back at listed level latest. This more suitable.

Successful twice during the spring and better efforts in defeat next 3 starts (including when runner-up in John Smith's Cup). Rare blip at Ayr (10f) last time and bounce back not ruled out.

Hit the target twice in 2020 and resumed winning ways at Ripon in July. At least as good as ever in defeat of late, keeping on for third at Ayr (13f) on most recent start. Mark is about right, though.

Improved model switched to the Flat, gaining fourth career success at Hamilton (9f) in August. Creditable efforts have followed, fourth in Ayr listed event (13f) 3 weeks ago. Mark still looks workable

All 3 career victories gained at Ripon, latterly over 9.7f in May. Matched that when fifth in John Smith's Cup and better than he showed when well held in a C&D handicap in August.

Impressive winner of 7f novice on debut last autumn and improved to finish midfield in Group 3 final 2-y-o start. However, not made an impact either start this campaign. Upped in trip now.

Landed Zetland Gold Cup in May and took another good pot at Doncaster (10.2f) in July. Hasn't been seen to best effect more recently, including in the Cambridgeshire 2 weeks ago.

Three wins in productive 2-y-o campaign, including 1m Pontefract listed. Creditable efforts in defeat this term but he does need to dispel a lesser effort at Doncaster on his most recent outing.

Forecasts

Bay Bridge (15/8), Faisal (7/2), Sinjaari (4/1), Platinumcard (9/1), Dark Jedi (10/1), Aleas (10/1), Good Birthday (12/1), Cockalorum (12/1), Pythagoras (14/1), Fishable (14/1), Akmaam (20/1)

Verdict

BAY BRIDGE hasn't been seen since the spring, but his profile is an upwardly-mobile one, showing much-improved form to double his career tally on handicap debut at Newbury (10f) in May. Underfoot conditions will hold no fears and he earns the vote. Faisal was beaten only by subsequent Cambridgeshire second Anmaat at Doncaster last month and is feared most, ahead of Sinjaari.
