Ascending⁴¹

Age: 2| Weight: 9-5| J: A Kirby| T: C G Cox

9/2

Some promise when midfield in a 12-runner Leicester maiden (6f) in June and not disgraced in finishing third over this trip back at that venue last month. In good hands and he may do better.

Form: 53

Berrygar

Age: 2| Weight: 9-5| J: Ray Dawson| T: H Main

100/1

Foaled March 1. 2,000 gns yearling, Garswood colt. Dam winner up to 7f (2-y-o 6f winner). Yard wouldn't be a regular source of winning newcomers and he rates a likely outsider on debut.

Form:

(6)

Borntobealeader⁹⁹

Age: 2| Weight: 9-5| J: Jim Crowley| T: Mrs A J Perrett

40/1

Bred more for stamina than speed and shaped better than distance beaten suggests when eighth of 9 in a Sandown maiden (7f) in June, meeting with trouble and running green. Capable of better.

Form: 8

(11)

Definite²²

Age: 2| Weight: 9-5| J: Rob Hornby| T: R M Beckett

16/1

Kingman colt out of unraced half-sister to high-class Sea Moon. Some promise amidst obvious signs of greenness in pair of small-field novice events in recent weeks and he may be one for later on.

Form: 46

(3)

Dream By Day¹⁵

Age: 2| Weight: 9-5| J: R Havlin| T: J & T Gosden

9/2

Shalaa colt who shaped with abundant promise amidst clear signs of greenness in a 12-runner Kempton novice (7f) 2 weeks ago, keeping on to finish fifth. Rates a sure-fire improver.

Form: 5

(1)

Ermin Street

Age: 2| Weight: 9-5| J: W Buick| T: C Hills

25/1

Foaled April 3. 60,000 gns yearling, Belardo half-brother to 2-y-o 7f winner Annie Quickstep and useful 5f winner Rebel At Dawn. Makes some appeal on paper and one to monitor in betting for clues.

Form:

(4)

Everyday⁹

Age: 2| Weight: 9-5| J: S M Levey| T: R Hannon

50/1

Son of Cable Bay who proved easy to back and ultimately only showed a bit when tenth of 11 in a Chelmsford maiden (7f) 9 days ago. Needs to step up on that to figure here.

Form: 0

(5)

Koy Koy¹⁵

Age: 2| Weight: 9-5| J: Oisin Murphy| T: A M Balding

8/11

Acclamation colt who had clearly derived plenty from his debut run when staying on to take second in an Ascot maiden (7f) behind the progressive Saga 2 weeks ago. Repeat should see him tough to beat.

Form: 52

(8)

Looe Beach

Age: 2| Weight: 9-5| J: Tom Marquand| T: R Hannon

28/1

Foaled March 28. 62,000 gns yearling, Footstepsinthesand colt. Dam once-raced half-sister to US Grade 1 9f winner Lucifer's Stone. One of 3 from this yard and market should guide on racecourse debut.

Form:

(2)

Night Glass¹⁵

Age: 2| Weight: 9-5| J: P J Dobbs| T: R Hannon

40/1

£45,000 Galileo Gold colt who looked badly in need of experience when ninth of 12 in a Kempton novice (1m) 15 days ago, running green and never on terms. This should reveal more.

Form: 9

(7)

Promotion

Age: 2| Weight: 9-5| J: Nicola Currie| T: D & C Kubler

50/1

Foaled March 11. Fast Company half-brother to modest maiden Redeeming (best form at 5f). Dam, winner up to 6f (2-y-o 5f winner), half-sister to high-class 5f/6f winner Reverence.

Form:

(12)

Sweet Summer

Age: 2| Weight: 9-0| J: James Doyle| T: H & R Charlton

18/1

Foaled March 15. Muhaarar filly. Dam, 5f/6f winner, half-sister to high-class 6f winner Twilight Son. Makes appeal on paper and yard can ready a newcomer, so well worth a second look.

Forecasts

Koy Koy (8/11), Dream By Day (9/2), Ascending (9/2), Definite (16/1), Sweet Summer (18/1), Ermin Street (25/1), Looe Beach (28/1), Borntobealeader (40/1), Night Glass (40/1), Everyday (50/1), Promotion (50/1), Berrygar (100/1)

KOY KOY took a sizeable step forward from his debut effort when finding only a potentially useful sort too good over this trip at Ascot 2 weeks ago and a repeat here can see him get off the mark under Oisin Murphy. Dream By Day ran with plenty of promise himself on debut recently and looks a sure-fire improver. Ascending and newcomer Sweet Summer complete the shortlist.
