Mountain Brave⁷

Age: 4| Weight: 10-0| J: Nicola Currie| T: C & M Johnston| OR: 95| CD

5/1

Front runner who returned to form when just holding on at Chester 3 starts back. Had soft ground as an excuse at Goodwood and quickly back to best when close fourth at Salisbury. Player under Currie.

Rocket Action^h1,t⁶⁸

Age: 5| Weight: 10-0| J: Elle-May Croot⁽⁷⁾| T: I Furtado| OR: 95

28/1

Not far off smart in his pomp but temperament seems to have got the better of him this season. First run for yard after leaving Robert Cowell (sold 12,000 gns). Hooded.

Form: 284-570

(8)

Citron Major²⁶

Age: 6| Weight: 9-1| J: Faye McManoman⁽³⁾| T: N Tinkler| OR: 82| D

6/1

Mostly below par this term but took advantage of reduced mark in 13-runner handicap at York (6f, good, 8/1) on penultimate start. Looks competitive on form but is inconsistent.

Form: 980610

(5)

Call Me Ginger²³

Age: 5| Weight: 8-12| J: Amie Waugh⁽⁵⁾| T: J S Goldie| OR: 79| D

3/1

Often shaped well in defeat and finally gained a first handicap win for almost 2 years at Hamilton last month. Getting cover and a sound pace to aim at seems important to him and should get that here.

Form: 292431

(7)

Giogiobbo^p²⁵

Age: 8| Weight: 8-10| J: Hayley Turner| T: S Dixon| OR: 77| CD

15/2

Completed a C&D hat-trick in June but last 2 starts have been disappointing. Warrants respect back at this venue, however.

Form: 111467

(6)

Lord P^t¹³

Age: 4| Weight: 8-9| J: Hollie Doyle| T: F O'Brien| OR: 74| D

15/8

Much improved since a wind operation, winning handicaps at Carlisle and Thirsk in ready fashion. Looks capable of making a big impact at this higher level despite being 2 lb out of the handicap.

Form: 55-0511

(1)

Pivoting⁹

Age: 3| Weight: 8-7| J: Ella McCain⁽⁵⁾| T: T D Easterby| OR: 76| D

12/1

Not disgraced back from a break at Ripon 9 days ago but best form has come under testing conditions so easy enough to look elsewhere.

Form: 1-62096

Non-Runners

(4)

Embour⁶

Weight: 9-6| Age: 6

T: Mrs R Carr J: Laura Pearson

Forecasts

Lord P (15/8), Call Me Ginger (3/1), Mountain Brave (5/1), Citron Major (6/1), Embour (6/1), Giogiobbo (15/2), Pivoting (12/1), Rocket Action (28/1)

LORD P has looked a different animal since having a wind operation and looks capable of completing the hat-trick up in class with Hollie Doyle doing the steering. Call Me Ginger deservedly ended his long run at Hamilton last time and rates the main threat ahead of Embour and Mountain Brave.
