C&D winner. Eighteen runs since last win in 2018. Twelfth of 16 in handicap (12/1) at Ripon (6f, good to firm) 14 days ago. Capable of a very bold show off this mark if on a going day.

Respectable fifth of 12 in handicap at Doncaster (7f, good to firm, 8/1) 14 days ago. Remains 2 lb above last winning mark and may again find one or two too good.

Thrice-raced maiden. 14/1, second of 10 in maiden at Nottingham (6.1f, good) 30 days ago, running on. Mark for this handicap debut looks fair and he's high on the shortlist.

Latest win at Wolverhampton in July. Ninth of 11 in handicap at Hamilton (6f, good, 28/1) 11 days ago. 4 lb lower now, but he's not straightforward and is probably worth taking on.

Career best when winning 8-runner handicap at Doncaster (6f, good to firm, 11/4) 37 days ago, bit in hand. 4 lb rise tolerable and no surprise if he's in the thick of things here.

Forecasts

Hail Sezer (11/4), Fleetwood Pier (11/2), Athollblair Boy (13/2), The Armed Man (11/1), Dandys Gold (11/1), It Just Takes Time (14/1), Mythmaker (14/1), Aunt Agatha (14/1), Captain Vallo (16/1), Little Muddy (18/1), Eeh Bah Gum (20/1), Gullane One (25/1), Spanish Angel (25/1)

Verdict

The unexposed FLEETWOOD PIER makes plenty of appeal now pitched into a handicap off what may turn out to be a rather generous opening mark. Indeed, his belated reappearance in a Nottingham maiden last month was most encouraging and he should come on for that. Hail Sezer deservedly opened his account at Doncaster and is next on the list ahead of Mythmaker, Aunt Agatha and Dandys Gold.

  1. FLEETWOOD PIER
  2. HAIL SEZER
  3. MYTHMAKER
