Royal Equestrian Bedding Crushed Pellet Bedding Handicap Chase

Off time: 13:36 | Winning time: 5m 59.30s

Raven's Tower⁴²

Age: 11| Weight: 11-12| J: Luca Morgan⁽⁵⁾| T: B Pauling| OR: 104

16/1

Without a win since 2017 but his C&D reappearance second shows he's well capable off this mark. Needs to shrug off a lesser run at Stratford since.

Form: 3556-24

Image of Stars that are filled with the colour gold

Steeles Terrace³⁵

Age: 9| Weight: 11-11| J: Harry Bannister| T: A W Carroll| OR: 103

40/1

Fair winning chaser at his best. Never a serious threat when fourth of 6 at Stratford starting out for this yard at Stratford but perhaps he'll be sharper for the run.

Form: 3/2-3PP4

Viking Ruby^p,t⁶⁶

Age: 8| Weight: 11-10| J: T Scudamore| T: N P Mulholland| OR: 102| D

16/1

Dual hurdle winner last season. Creditable fourth on course return in May but tailed-off fourth on Ffos Las chase debut since. Too soon to write off in this sphere but that gives her a bit to prove.

Form: 3231-44

Heavey^p,t²⁸

Age: 7| Weight: 11-10| J: Sam Twiston-Davies| T: N P Mulholland| OR: 102| D

18/5

Fair hurdles winner who is yet to match pick of form in that sphere over fences, merely passing beaten horses when fourth at Uttoxeter last time.

Form: 602-454

Terrafirma Lady³⁹

Age: 6| Weight: 11-9| J: Tom Cannon| T: A King| OR: 101

17/2

Maiden over hurdles but has recorded a pair of creditable placed efforts in handicaps this term (here first occasion). Bred to make a chaser. Respected.

Form: 53P7-23

Accordini^t²³

Age: 9| Weight: 11-8| J: Alex Edwards⁽³⁾| T: Mrs M Rowley| OR: 100

9/1

Point winner. Could only manage remote fourth in Chepstow hunter chase in spring 2019 but has been placed in maiden/novice hurdles for this yard in recent months. Potential improver back over fences.

Form: U/P-P337

Cloud Formation³¹

Age: 7| Weight: 11-4| J: James Best| T: M Keighley| OR: 96

25/1

No better than modest form when third in maiden hurdles this summer but may do better bow handicap chasing.

Form: 79/P-33

Big Tree³⁰

Age: 8| Weight: 11-0| J: Kevin Jones⁽³⁾| T: Simon Earle| OR: 92

50/1

Fair 3m maiden hurdler in Ireland, but has offered little in a handful of start for this yard, including his chase debut last month.

Form: 3/P97-5P

Head On^t1,v⁶²

Age: 5| Weight: 10-8| J: T J O'Brien| T: Ian Williams| OR: 86

7/2

Best run over hurdles when second of 9 on 3m handicap debut in June, although he didn't look the straightforward (hung left). Unexposed now chasing with a tongue strap added to visor worn last time.

Form: 68-552

Hoot At Midnight^p⁵³

Age: 6| Weight: 10-3| J: Charlie Deutsch| T: C E Longsdon| OR: 81

10/3

Built on Huntingdon third when 2 lengths second over C&D at the end of June. Winner gave that form a boost by going in again next time. Good shout.

Form: FPU-632

Wavecrest^p²⁷

Age: 6| Weight: 10-2| J: David Noonan| T: N J Hawke| OR: 80

33/1

Placed in points. No real encouragement over hurdles, including a handicap last month, but perhaps he'll fare better over fences given that point background.

Form: 3-30597

Currabeha Hill³⁰

Age: 9| Weight: 10-0| J: C O'Farrell| T: J Coulson| OR: 77

200/1

Has offered little, including on last month's chase debut.

Form: 000/P-R5

Maxi Jazz^b,t¹⁰⁸

Age: 6| Weight: 10-0| J: Tom Buckley⁽⁵⁾| T: C E Longsdon| OR: 76WS

11/1

Decent start over fences when third at Ludlow last November. Disappointed on next 5 starts but took step back in right direction when third at Huntingdon in May. Needs to back that up. Had wind op.

Form: 7PPP-03

Mr Jim⁸⁰

Age: 12| Weight: 10-0| J: J E Moore| T: R Potter| OR: 76

16/1

Not disgraced back from a lengthy absence at Worcester in April, but well beaten on completed start since. Others make more appeal.

Form: U48/5-5F

Forecasts

Hoot At Midnight (10/3), Head On (7/2), Heavey (18/5), Terrafirma Lady (17/2), Accordini (9/1), Maxi Jazz (11/1), Mr Jim (16/1), Raven's Tower (16/1), Viking Ruby (16/1), Cloud Formation (25/1), Wavecrest (33/1), Steeles Terrace (40/1), Big Tree (50/1), Currabeha Hill (200/1)

HOOT AT MIDNIGHT's latest C&D second looks a solid piece of form so she's taken to go one better now. Alan King chase newcomer Terrafirma Lady rates a possible threat, while Accordini has run a couple of decent races over hurdles this summer and is a possible improver now going over fences for the first time for this stable.
