Enough Already²⁵

Age: 5| Weight: 9-10| J: Liam Jones| T: L Carter| OR: 84| D

11/1

Fairly low-mileage 5-y-o who has improved to land 3 handicaps this year, latterly over 1m at Yarmouth in June. Respectable fifth at Goodwood last time and but stall 17 makes things tough.

Form: 971145

(9)

Lyndon B^p³²

Age: 5| Weight: 9-10| J: Daniel Muscutt| T: J L Flint| OR: 84| CD

14/1

Has gradually found his feet for current stable and had a bit to spare when arriving late to score over C&D last time. Remains with handicapping scope, so could feature if the pace is solid.

Form: 60-9751

(6)

Baby Steps²¹

Age: 5| Weight: 9-9| J: Rossa Ryan| T: D Loughnane| OR: 83| BF

12/1

Kick-started 2021 with 7f Wolverhampton win and has continued in good form, respectable fourth at Chester 3 weeks ago. Ought to be competitive again.

Form: 672324

(10)

Crack Regiment^p²⁹

Age: 4| Weight: 9-9| J: B A Curtis| T: H Spiller| OR: 83| D

18/1

Scored at Newcastle in first-time cheekpieces in June, deserving extra credit with rider dislocating his shoulder late on. Disappointing at Ascot next time, but not one to write off.

Form: 05-7317

(1)

Ridgeway^p,t1¹⁸

Age: 4| Weight: 9-9| J: W Buick| T: Eve Johnson Houghton| OR: 83

25/1

Better than ever when making all at Lingfield in June but has struggled since. Unlikely to feature.

Form: 74-0155

(2)

Global Spirit²¹

Age: 6| Weight: 9-8| J: Jason Hart| T: R Fell & S Murray| OR: 82| D

17/2

Nicely handicapped and was doing his best work at the finish when third to Give It Some Teddy at Thirsk last time. Better off with that rival and not taken lightly by any means.

Form: 842053

(14)

Overwrite⁸

Age: 4| Weight: 9-8| J: Nicola Currie| T: C & M Johnston| OR: 82| D

33/1

Capitalised on a sliding mark with nothing to spare at Bath 8 days ago and doesn't look an obvious sort to follow up in this more competitive event.

Form: 447461

(8)

Affwonn¹⁹

Age: 4| Weight: 9-8| J: Cameron Noble⁽³⁾| T: Alexandra Dunn| OR: 82

100/1

Debut winner for Roger Varian at Wolverhampton in December but, having been sold for 20,000 gns, returned from 8 months off and a gelding operation with lesser effort at Ffos Las. Something to prove.

Form: 1-4

(3)

Flyin' High²⁴

Age: 3| Weight: 9-5| J: Oisin Murphy| T: A M Balding| OR: 85| D

13/2

Lightly raced colt who landed a couple of novices at Newcastle in the winter and shaped as if in need of the run when only seventh in a handicap there last time. Remains with potential on turf.

Form: 4-1157

(5)

Bucephalus⁴⁴

Age: 4| Weight: 9-5| J: J Mitchell| T: C F Wall| OR: 79| D

9/2

Made all at Pontefract in May and has acquitted himself well on the back of a 9-lb rise since. Not the most straightforward, but appears to be holding it together at present, so warrants respect.

Form: 75-5133

(15)

Mustarrid¹⁵

Age: 7| Weight: 9-5| J: David Egan| T: Ian Williams| OR: 79| D

50/1

Heavy-ground winner at Nottingham last year. However, yet to get going this season, and failed to beat a rival at Newmarket last time.

Form: 769867

(13)

Farasi Lane^p²²

Age: 3| Weight: 9-5| J: Tom Marquand| T: T Ward| OR: 85| BF| C

13/2

Proved better than ever with the cheekpieces refitted when winning 9-runner handicap here in July and, while not in the same form at Goodwood next time, it's too soon to rule him out.

Form: 1-25218

(4)

Give It Some Teddy¹⁷

Age: 7| Weight: 9-5| J: D Fentiman| T: T D Easterby| OR: 79| D

8/1

In midst of a revival, scoring at Thirsk before a narrow third at Redcar 17 days ago. Remains well treated on past efforts, so very much one to consider from a handy draw.

Form: 805213

(12)

Coase¹⁶

Age: 4| Weight: 9-4| J: Jason Watson| T: D O'Meara| OR: 78| BF

15/2

On a fair mark and has posted solid efforts to hit the frame at Musselburgh the last twice, doing so despite a wide position on his latest outing. Looks a player.

Form: 684334

(16)

Tommy G²⁸

Age: 8| Weight: 9-3| J: P Mulrennan| T: J S Goldie| OR: 77| D

10/1

Completed an Ayr hat-trick in May/June and proved at least as good as ever to make it 4 wins for the season at Musselburgh 28 days ago, showing a good attitude. Not discounted.

Form: 111321

(7)

Delicate Kiss^p³²

Age: 7| Weight: 9-1| J: Rhys Clutterbuck⁽⁵⁾| T: J J Bridger| OR: 75| CD

50/1

Enjoyed a productive 2020, winning 4 times including over C&D. Exploits have been mixed so far this campaign, last of 7 over here 32 days ago. Cheekpieces back on, but plenty to prove.

Forecasts

Bucephalus (9/2), Farasi Lane (13/2), Flyin' High (13/2), Coase (15/2), Give It Some Teddy (8/1), Global Spirit (17/2), Tommy G (10/1), Enough Already (11/1), Baby Steps (12/1), Dalanijujo (12/1), Lyndon B (14/1), Crack Regiment (18/1), Ridgeway (25/1), Overwrite (33/1), Delicate Kiss (50/1), Mustarrid (50/1), Affwonn (100/1)

GLOBAL SPIRIT is on an appealing mark and was finishing well when third to Give It Some Teddy at Redcar last time. The former is fancied to turn the tables and makes plenty of appeal in an open race, while Coase is another one to note following an encouraging fourth (caught wide) at Musselburgh earlier in the month.
