7/2, creditable second of 9 in handicap at Thirsk (6f, soft) 10 days ago, no match for an easy winner. No reason why she won't be in the shake up again with a repeat here.

14/1 and blinkered for 1st time, seventh of 9 in handicap at Brighton (7f, good) 12 days ago, albeit not helped by being carried right from 3f out. Not dimissed out of hand for shrewd stable.

Improved on recent efforts to win 12-runner handicap (15/2) at this C&D (good) 13 days ago, kept up to work. 5 lb higher mark to contend with now but he's a definite player on that evidence.

Thirty five runs since last win in 2017. 5/1, bit below form fifth of 13 in minor event at Leicester (6f, good) 32 days ago. Operating from career-low mark but losing run tempers enthusiasm.

Ninth of 11 in handicap (13/2) at Yarmouth (6f, good to firm) 12 days ago, close up but not quickening 1f out. Mark has eased a little more and booking of Doyle catches the eye.

Thirteen runs since last win in 2019. 8¾ lengths ninth of 12 to Quercus in handicap (80/1) at this C&D (good) 13 days ago, never travelling well. Others make much more appeal.

Forecasts

Quercus (2/1), Naughty Ana (3/1), Decision Maker (11/2), Lady Amalthea (13/2), Dirchill (10/1), Mo Henry (11/1), Bartat (12/1), Gorgeous Gobolina (16/1), Mightaswellsmile (40/1), Rain Cap (50/1), I'll Be Good (100/1), Guiding Star (125/1)

Verdict

Ann Duffield has her string in good order and QUERCUS put up an authoritative display when shedding the maiden tag over C&D at the start of the month, breaking well and asserting final 1f. A 5 lb higher mark shouldn't prevent another bold showing and he gets the nod to follow up. Naughty Ana ran well at Thirsk recently and is next best, ahead of Mo Henry.

  1. QUERCUS (IRE)
  2. NAUGHTY ANA (IRE)
  3. MO HENRY
