Smart 7f/1m performer who hasn't won for a while but arrives in excellent form, running on from well back to finish fifth in Hunt Cup at Royal Ascot. Player.

Queen Anne winner in 2018. Showed he's still capable of smart form when seventh in this year's Queen Anne but he beat only one in 1m Sandown handicap last time. Needs to bounce back.

Useful handicapper who scored at Haydock (1m) in April. Well held in Hunt Cup at Royal Ascot last time though. Type to bounce back quickly.

Ended a losing run at Sandown in June and not seen to best effect when eleventh there 14 days ago, suffering poor run. No surprise to see him go well again.

Back on the up when successful at Doncaster (1m) last month and possibly best forgiven subsequent Royal Ascot effort (blindfold removed very late and pulled up). C&D winner and not ruled out.

Low-mileage 4-y-o who scored at Wolverhampton on return. Well held in handicaps at Epsom and Royal Ascot on his last two runs but possible excuses both times and he retains potential.

Kept really busy in 2021, scoring at Newmarket (1m) in April, and not disgraced when fourth at Hamilton on Thursday. Shortlisted.

Signed off for 2020 with 7f Kempton novice success but unseated rider on his return and didn't look easiest of rides in blinkers when third in 7f York handicap in May. Not one to trust.

Forecasts

Stunning Beauty (10/3), Irish Admiral (10/3), Beat Le Bon (4/1), Finest Sound (13/2), Rifleman (8/1), Overwrite (10/1), Accidental Agent (12/1), Trais Fluors (14/1)

Verdict

A few in with a shout but BEAT LE BON comes here after a fine fifth in the Royal Hunt Cup and is taken to end a losing run at the chief expense of Irish Admiral, who could bounce back having seemed unsuited by very firm conditions at the Royal meeting. Finest Sound is another weighted to have a say if shrugging off a lesser effort at Royal Ascot.

  1. BEAT LE BON (FR)
  2. IRISH ADMIRAL (IRE)
  3. FINEST SOUND (IRE)
