Winless since 2019 but he got back on track in refitted blinkers when third of 14 in 6f handicap at Newcastle 13 days ago. Not ruled out if backing that run up with headgear retained.
On a long losing run but he arrives in decent nick, third of 8 in 6f handicap at Windsor on soft ground 11 days ago. C&D scorer too so he's one for the shortlist.
Dual 6f winner last summer who wasn't disgraced on his return after 10 months off when fifth of 8 in 6f handicap at Windsor 11 days ago. No forlorn hope.
Well supported and took his form up a notch when impressive winner of 6f handicap at Nottingham 29 days ago, forging clear under 2f out. Hiked up 8 lb but another bold showing is firmly on the cards.
Scored at Yarmouth in April and has posted two good efforts since, third of 11 in handicap at York (7f) 16 days ago when doing too much too soon. In the picture again.
Shaped promisingly when third of 16 in 6f handicap at Haydock in May, finishing well having been not ideally placed. Back on a good mark and he merits serious consideration.
Opened his account for the season at Newbury (6f) in May and not disgraced off 4 lb higher when fourth of 7 at Windsor (6f) 25 days ago. Possibilities.
Course winner who arrives in good order, fourth of 10 in 6f handicap at Newmarket 20 days ago. Ought to be competitive again.
Resumed with success on handicap bow at Pontefract (6f) and posted another good effort when seventh of 17 in handicap at York (6f) 27 days ago. In the mix eased 1 lb now.
Returned with win in 6f Nottingham novice before eye-catching eighth of 17 on handicap bow at York (6f) 27 days ago, making up lot of late ground after a slow start. Big player off 1 lb lower mark.
Made winning debut in Cork maiden for Andrew Slattery and recorded excellent fourth in handicap over C&D in May, making most. Needs another step forward at these weights, however.

Forecasts
Dark Shift (7/2), Dazzling Dan (18/5), Bickerstaffe (9/2), Bernardo O'Reilly (9/1), Ascot Adventure (10/1), One Night Stand (11/1), Tinto (12/1), Major Jumbo (16/1), Zhui Feng (18/1), Concierge (20/1), Chairmanoftheboard (22/1)
A case can be made for a few of these but much the most persuasive one is for DARK SHIFT who really caught the eye when a strong-finishing eighth at York having blown the start and can race off a 1 lb lower mark here. One Night Stand has been hit hard by the official assessor for his impressive Nottingham success but is still feared most while Bernardo O'Reilly shouldn't be underestimated either.
- DARK SHIFT
- ONE NIGHT STAND
- BERNARDO O'REILLY
