Unreliable type. Twenty-nine runs since last win in 2018. 80/1, eleventh of 15 in handicap at Thirsk (6f, good to firm) 25 days ago, not clear run. Losing sequence looks set to continue.
Six-time C&D winner. 16/1, eighth of 12 in handicap at this C&D (good to firm) 21 days ago. Chance if rediscovering old form, having slipped to an attractive mark.
Seventh of 8 in handicap at Ayr (7.2f, good to firm, 8/1) 26 days ago, slowly away. Needs to get back on track.
14/1, eighth of 9 in handicap at Nottingham (5f, good to firm) 14 days ago. Hopes pinned on first-time blinkers sparking a return to form.
Six-time C&D winner. Fourth of 5 in handicap at this C&D (good, 11/4) 61 days ago, left poorly placed. Cheekpieces back on and should make his presence felt.
Eleven runs since last win in 2018. 10/1, sixth of 9 in handicap at Ayr (6f, good to firm) 6 days ago. Another for whom much depends on whether the fitting of blinkers will work the oracle.
Winner at Lingfield in December. 16/1, creditable fourth of 12 in handicap at Lingfield (7f, AW) 11 days ago. More needed now switched to turf.
9/2, fourth of 5 in handicap at Haydock (7f, good to firm) 18 days ago. Something to find on form here and others may be better treated.
Visored for 1st time, fifth of 7 in handicap (7/1) at Chelmsford City (7f) 28 days ago. Cheekpieces back on and no surprise if this 4-y-o is in the thick of things.
Twelve runs since last win in 2020. 15/8, creditable third of 8 in handicap at Ripon (5f, soft) 32 days ago. Reproduction of that effort would give him a live chance in an open-looking race.
C&D winner. Won 14-runner handicap at Ripon (6f, good to firm, 16/1) 11 days ago, well positioned. 3 lb rise fair enough and no surprise if he makes another bold bid.
Winner at Southwell in April. Fourth of 7 in handicap at Nottingham (6.1f, good to firm, 9/2) 14 days ago. 2 lb lower now and couldn't rule out.
Respectable third of 11 in handicap (2/1) at Carlisle (5.8f, good) 14 days ago. Record stands at 0-14, but he has to be taken seriously nonetheless.

Forecasts
Impeller (3/1), Vanitas (7/2), Hurstwood (13/2), Shackabooah (8/1), Aliento (10/1), Two Cop Bop (10/1), Round The Island (12/1), Mr Orange (12/1), Quanah (14/1), Helvetian (33/1), Breaking Records (33/1), Last Date (50/1), Ice Age (80/1)
This may well be the day when SHACKABOOAH gets his head in front. There were excuses at Carlisle last time and he has at least as good a chance as any of his rivals judged on his C&D second to Mr Wagyu earlier this month. Quanah's latest effort at Ripon was solid and he is next on the shortlist, while Last Date and Round The Island are others to consider.
