Not long with this yard and looked back to his best when scoring at Catterick last time. Return to this trip shouldn't pose a problem, so he warrants plenty of respect.

Good strike rate for a sprinter and won 5 times last season. Has looked in the grip of the handicapper this term, though.

Improved performer since dropped in trip, winning twice at Newcastle over the winter. Back on song when fourth in competitive affair at Ascot last month, then lost all chance at start last time.

Consistent sprinter who bagged a couple of handicaps during a productive 2020 campaign. Back on the scoresheet over C&D in May and shouldn't be judged too harshly on a blip at York since.

Generally consistent and posted an excellent third behind Giogiobbo over C&D on reappearance. May strip fitter for that, so he's a definite player.

Respectable eighth of 19 in handicap at York (6f, good to firm, 16/1) 14 days ago, running on without being unduly punished. Likely he can do better still for this yard, so he's interesting.

C&D winner who has been below best this year and didn't really threaten a revival at Leicester a fortnight ago. Others preferred.

In fine form at Newcastle this year and far from disgraced when seventh of 19 in handicap at York last time. Mark looks about right, however.

Highly consistent on AW earlier this year but mark sums him up and she posted a rare poor effort at Chester a fortnight ago. Likely to bounce back.

Sprung a surprise when 33/1-winner of 12-runner handicap over C&D 22 days ago and followed up here on Friday. Clearly in great heart but this is tougher under a penalty.

Forecasts

Giogiobbo (5/2), Big Les (10/3), Ventura Express (11/2), Roundhay Park (7/1), The Lamplighter (7/1), Coase (15/2), Global Warning (8/1), Mohareb (10/1), Dave Dexter (12/1), Treacherous (14/1), Devil's Angel (14/1), Wentworth Falls (14/1), Stone Circle (16/1), Turanga Leela (28/1)

Verdict

DAVE DEXTER was right back on track to open his account for Roger Fell at Catterick last time and remains well treated on old form, so a chance is taken on him to follow up in this open-looking sprint handicap. Wentworth Falls has been shaping up well lately and is suited by this track, so he's another one to consider along with the consistent Big Les.

  1. DAVE DEXTER
  2. WENTWORTH FALLS
  3. BIG LES (IRE)
