Took big step back in right direction for current yard when third of 20 in C&D handicap last month and shaped as if still in good form when fifth of 16 back here 10 days later. Needs considering.

Consistent in the main last term and has picked up where she left off, third at Ayr before second at Pontefract 14 days ago. Likely to give another good account.

Arrives in top form having made light of a further 6 lb rise to complete a hat-trick at Ayr (13f, good to firm) 9 days ago. 5 lb penalty unlikely to prevent him going close as he seeks a 4-timer.

Four-time winner in 2019 but drew a blank in 5 starts last year. Been off for 9 months so the percentage call is to look elsewhere.

Winner of just one of his 16 starts, namely a Lingfield novice in December 2018. Plenty of creditable efforts in defeat since but latest Newbury run wasn't one of them.

Career best when winning 6-runner handicap at Thirsk (1¾m) last month and creditable third at Nottingham (1¾m again) off this mark since. Drop back in trip isn't certain to play to his strengths.

Forecasts

Ghadbbaan (11/4), Dubai Instinct (7/2), Bollin Joan (5/1), Greengage (5/1), Sudona (11/2), Let Rip (17/2), Viaduct (18/1), Blue Medici (40/1)

Verdict

DUBAI INSTINCT shaped pretty well in a couple of big-field events over C&D last month and may be able to provide Mick and David Easterby with a winner at their local course in the week in which they've taken out a joint licence. The thriving Greengage looks sure to make a bold bid to complete a 4-timer and looks next best ahead of the reliable Sudona.

  1. DUBAI INSTINCT
  2. GREENGAGE (IRE)
  3. SUDONA
