First Greyed^b²⁸

Age: 3| Weight: 9-7| J: Connor Beasley| T: M Dods| OR: 75

12/1

Successful twice at up to 7f in juvenile season but has failed to get competitive both outings this term. Blinkers replace cheekpieces up in trip.

Form: 1961-65

(8)

Corbulo³²

Age: 3| Weight: 9-6| J: Dane O'Neill| T: B J Meehan| OR: 74| D

4/1

Successful twice at Bath this term and shaped very well when second in between those runs at Nottingham. Limit not yet reached.

Form: 589-121

(1)

Boltaway⁵⁸

Age: 3| Weight: 9-5| J: P Mulrennan| T: H & R Charlton| OR: 73

9/2

Best effort yet despite still looking green when fourth om April's reappearance at Nottingham. Opening mark stiff on the face of it but he's a well-bred colt in very good hands.

Form: 57-4

(2)

Wurlitzer¹⁸

Age: 3| Weight: 9-2| J: Louis Steward| T: A King| OR: 70

12/1

Soft ground perhaps to blame for disappointing turf debut at Leicester 18 days ago. Represents good yard but others are more persuasive.

Form: 642-67

(9)

Haven Lady²⁰⁹

Age: 3| Weight: 9-0| J: R Kingscote| T: J & S Quinn| OR: 68

18/1

Minor promise in a trio of runs over 7f last autumn. Dam stayed well so this trip may unlock more on handicap debut.

Form: 443-

(3)

Carter Cowboy²⁴

Age: 3| Weight: 9-0| J: P Hanagan| T: R A Fahey| OR: 68

8/1

Best effort yet when third of 7 on handicap debut over 9.9f ay Beverley 3 weeks ago. Same mark here, but that wasn't a deep race.

Form: 56-83

(7)

Cape Horn^t1⁵¹

Age: 3| Weight: 8-12| J: T Eaves| T: T D Easterby| OR: 66

33/1

Very likely he needed the run on April's reappearance at Beverley. Capable of better but he does need to raise his game against a few of these. Tongue tie on.

Form: 670-0

Forecasts

Bague D'or (11/8), Corbulo (4/1), Boltaway (9/2), Amy Beach (9/2), Carter Cowboy (8/1), Wurlitzer (12/1), First Greyed (12/1), Haven Lady (18/1), Cape Horn (33/1)

This looks a good 3-y-o handicap with the vote going to BAGUE D'OR, who returned a different proposition when a taking winner at Yarmouth in April. Corbulo also won last time and his limit has not yet been reached, while Haven Lady's dam stayed well so middle distances ought to suit this year.
