Age: 6| Weight: 9-7| J: K Shoemark| T: D Menuisier| OR: 94| BF

Enhanced his good Epsom record when second of 5 over 1½m last month, that just his second outing for new trainer David Menuisier since returning from an absence.

Form: 1292/42

Golden Rules³⁴

Age: 4| Weight: 9-6| J: M Harley| T: J & T Gosden| OR: 93| BF

2/1

AW novice winner last year. Narrowly denied when odds-on for Wolverhampton handicap debut/reappearance but the form looks strong, with the winner and fourth successful since. The one to beat.

Form: 421-2

(7)

Amazing Red²⁴

Age: 8| Weight: 9-3| J: Mark Crehan⁽⁵⁾| T: E A L Dunlop| OR: 90| D

25/1

Cashed in on a reduced mark when scoring on return over 1½m at Leicester last month. However, put in his place behind Soto Sizzler at Epsom subsequently.

Form: 4345-14

(4)

Smart Champion^h²¹⁶

Age: 6| Weight: 9-1| J: Callum Shepherd| T: D M Simcock| OR: 88| D

11/2

Consistent sort who ought to play a part if ready to roll after 7 months off but he does remain 5 lb above his winning mark.

Form: 493440-

(2)

The Olympian⁸³

Age: 5| Weight: 8-11| J: Oisin Murphy| T: A King| OR: 84| CWS

11/1

Made promising start on Flat in 2018, culminating with 1¼m course maiden win. However, not seen again until finishing down the field in an Ascot novice hurdle in February. Had wind op. Hard to assess.

Form: 221/

(1)

A Star Above²⁰

Age: 4| Weight: 8-10| J: Tom Marquand| T: W J Haggas| OR: 83

4/1

Opened last season with 1½m wins at Thirsk and Leicester. Progress stalled in the autumn but reappearance third of 4 at Doncaster was satisfactory and he remains low-mileage.

Form: 11249-3

(6)

To Be Wild¹⁰⁴

Age: 8| Weight: 8-9| J: S De Sousa| T: Jane Chapple-Hyam| OR: 82

9/1

Eleven runs since last win in 2016. Well held in AW handicaps both starts this term and likely it's best to look elsewhere.

Form: 637/8-68

Forecasts

Golden Rules (2/1), Soto Sizzler (3/1), A Star Above (4/1), Smart Champion (11/2), To Be Wild (9/1), The Olympian (11/1), Amazing Red (25/1)

It'll be a major surprise if there isn't more to come from GOLDEN RULES after only 4 starts so he's a confident pick with his reappearance second having been boosted since. Soto Sizzler showed he retains his ability when runner-up at Epsom last month and can fill the forecast spot.
