9/1

Turned in his best effort of the season back over fences when second in 2m handicap at Uttoxeter in February, but was struggling in fifth when falling 2 out at Stratford last time. Back hurdling now.

Form: 1-4P82F

Totally Rejected^h¹⁸

Age: 6| Weight: 11-10| J: B S Hughes| T: D McCain Jnr| OR: 102

4/1

All the better for a recent outing when runner-up at Musselburgh (16.8f) 18 days ago, making smooth headway from rear after 4 out. Respected off same mark.

Form: 130572

Roseriver Has^t¹³⁴

Age: 8| Weight: 11-8| J: Jack Tudor⁽³⁾| T: Christian Williams| OR: 100

33/1

Fair ex-Irish winner who hinted at a revival for new yard at Newton Abbot in October. Disappointing both starts since, but a break may have perked him up. Watch betting.

Form: 09-0400

Chapati¹²

Age: 7| Weight: 11-7| J: Fergus Gregory⁽³⁾| T: J Coulson| OR: 99| CD

18/1

Much improved from reduced mark when winning C&D handicap in November. Creditable third at Taunton a month later and should strip fitter for his recent return at Uttoxeter. Not ruled out.

Form: 508138

Drumochter^t²²

Age: 7| Weight: 11-3| J: Jonathan England| T: S England| OR: 95

9/1

Fair up to 1¼m on Flat in 2017. Off 24 months prior to this season but caught the eye under a considerate ride when second in 11-runner contest over C&D 22 days ago. One to bear in mind.

Form: 543/072

Goldencard^b⁵⁴

Age: 8| Weight: 11-1| J: Nick Scholfield| T: Christian Williams| OR: 93| D

25/1

Runner-up 3 times on the bounce in handicap chases at up to 19f in November/December. However, ran no sort of a race at Leicester last time so something to prove now returning to hurdling.

Form: 48222P

Begin The Luck²⁷

Age: 5| Weight: 11-0| J: Harry Skelton| T: Mrs Caroline Bailey| OR: 92

5/1

Better signs when runner-up on second handicap start at Huntingdon (15.8f) 27 days ago, despite being no match for a thriving one. Harry Skelton now takes over in the saddle.

Form: 90672

Ten Past Midnight^p¹⁹

Age: 5| Weight: 10-12| J: James Best| T: M Keighley| OR: 90

40/1

Form: 8-80P40

Global Wonder¹⁴⁰

Age: 6| Weight: 10-11| J: Brendan Powell| T: J & S Best| OR: 89| D

22/1

Showed improved form to open his account in this sphere in a 2m Plumpton handicap in October, quickening to lead final 1f and storming clear. Not seen to best effect back on the Flat subsequently.

Form: 099-351

Galurin^h³⁹

Age: 5| Weight: 10-9| J: C Gethings| T: A Ralph| OR: 87

8/1

Little impact sole start for Nicky Henderson and well held in maiden/novice hurdles for new yard subsequently. More chance now handicapping but isn't straightforward and others appeal more.

Form: 8775

Mawlood^t⁸^{(ex 7)}

Age: 5| Weight: 10-3| J: Shane Quinlan⁽⁵⁾| T: P W Middleton| OR: 74

3/1

Showed improved form to get off the mark in 11-runner handicap hurdle at Plumpton (17.8f, good, 14/1) 8 days ago, left clear 3 out. Ought to be competitive under a penalty.

Form: 577081

Age: 12| Weight: 10-0| J: Benjamin Poste| T: Mrs R Gasson| OR: 72| D

40/1

Veteran who wasn't disgraced after 3 months off in Huntingdon handicap chase 21 days ago, but faces a stiff task from 6 lb out of the weights back over the smaller obstacles here.

Form: B72554

Naasik^v¹²

Age: 8| Weight: 10-0| J: Philip Armson⁽⁷⁾| T: J R Norton| OR: 70

Forecasts

Mawlood (3/1), Totally Rejected (4/1), Begin The Luck (5/1), Galurin (8/1), Knight Destroyer (9/1), Drumochter (9/1), Detatched (12/1), Lleyton (16/1), Chapati (18/1), Global Wonder (22/1), Goldencard (25/1), Roseriver Has (33/1), Dragon Khan (40/1), Ten Past Midnight (40/1), Naasik (66/1)

MAWLOOD would have had more to do had the favourite not fallen 3 out at Plumpton last week, but he still saw off the rest comfortably and seems sure to go well again under a penalty. Drumochter caught the eye under a considerate ride over C&D last month and heads up the opposition, along with Totally Rejected.
