Saddler's Rock gelding. Closely related to 2 winners, including useful hurdler/chaser Buckhorn Timothy, and half-brother to fairly useful hurdler Buckhorn George. Appealing on pedigree.

Vendangeur gelding. Half-brother to Bolero de Kerser. Dam, dual French 23f chase winner, half-sister to fairly useful chaser (2¾m-3¼m winner) Semiramiss. Off mark in Irish points at fifth attempt.

Failed to build on a promising debut when tenth at Kempton last time so needs a tongue strap to have a positive effect if he's to get back on track.

€170,000 3-y-o, Kayf Tara gelding. Half-brother to fairly useful hurdler/chaser Angel of Harlem. Interesting newcomer for stable that does well in bumpers.

Cheap purchase who came in for a shrewd ride when a narrow fourth at Kempton but lacks the scope of a few rivals. Not discounted.

Arvico gelding. Brother to a point winner. Dam (c83), point winner, half-sister to fair hurdler/fairly useful chaser (stayed 21f) Kincora Fort. Little impact in 3 points, pulled up last time.

Ask gelding out of an unraced dam. No promise to be gleaned from his debut at Huntingdon 13 months ago.

Related to a bumper winner but needed the experience when down the field over C&D on debut. Could prove a different proposition after a break.

Aussie Rules mare who shaped better than the result (flattened out late) when fourth of 5 in a C&D bumper on debut 49 days ago. Should progress, so warrants consideration.

Schiaparelli mare. Dam unraced. Hard to make a case for.

Forecasts

Go Dante (1/1), Muy Bien (7/2), Gala De Corton (11/2), Furlough Me (13/2), Kahina Rules (9/1), Buckhorn Rocco (10/1), Monymusk Lad (16/1), Young William (22/1), Flamenco De Kerser (25/1), Roll On Rosco (40/1), Daany (66/1), The Turfaccountant (125/1), Mangetout (300/1)

Verdict

GO DANTE cost plenty as a store and has enough in his pedigree to suggest he can handle this sort of test for all he'll likely be better over obstacles in time. As such, he gets the nod ahead of Muy Bien, who should step up on his encouraging debut, and Kahina Rules, hard to discount after a promising start here 7 weeks ago.

  1. GO DANTE
  2. MUY BIEN (IRE)
  3. KAHINA RULES
