Narrowly denied in 9-runner handicap hurdle at Huntingdon (25f, heavy) in December, shaping best given his position relative to the winner. Has run poorly at Warwick since, though.

Lightly-raced maiden who was an improved third of 15 in 21f novice hurdle at Wincanton in December. Very disappointing in Fakenham handicap since but still early days in her career.

Sold cheaply after losing his way for Gordon Elliott and well beaten all 5 starts for current yard. Easy to look elsewhere. First-time blinkers replace cheekpieces.

Already with his third yard but showed he has something to offer when runner-up at Hereford (25.5f) in December, pulling clear of the remainder. Good shout with a repeat.

Won 4 times on Flat (all AW) and posted much his best effort to date in this sphere when runner-up on return at Catterick (25.3f, good to soft) in November. Distant sixth at Fakenham since, though.

Forecasts

Black Centaur (5/2), Kendelu (7/2), Miss Honey Ryder (9/2), Crown Hill (10/1), Hot Ryan (14/1), It's For Alan (14/1), Malachys Girl (16/1), Master Tradesman (20/1), Drumlynn (20/1), Terrafirma Lady (25/1), Lake Shore Drive (33/1), Gang Warfare (40/1), What A Baloo (66/1), Final List (66/1)

Verdict

BLACK CENTAUR ran well at Hereford last time and could turn out to be the answer to this very open handicap. Kendelu has a much better recent record than most of these and is respected, while It's For Alan is fairly treated on his peak hurdle form and has run some good races over fences this term.

  1. BLACK CENTAUR (IRE)
  2. KENDELU (IRE)
  3. IT'S FOR ALAN
