Dual hurdles winner, but yet to get his head in front following a dozen attempts in this sphere. On the upside, he has performed well both starts this season and has edged down to a workable mark.

Signs of ability over hurdles last term and immediate improvement switched to fences when landing a Lingfield handicap (2½m) on return last month. 6 lb rise fair and this trip should be within range.

Left chase debut behind when justifying support in a first-time tongue strap at Plumpton over C&D in March. However, pulled up over hurdles later that month and absent since.

Forecasts

Benevolentdictator (10/11), Garrane (10/3), Don Lami (11/2), Fizzlestix (7/1), Dylanseoghan (14/1)

Verdict

BENEVOLENTDICTATOR stepped up on his hurdling exploits when making a successful chase debut at Lingfield and, with improvement likely now faced with a stiffer test, he is much the most likely winner. Second choice is Garrane, who has posted more good efforts than bad ones since switched to fences. Don Lami's reappearance effort was inauspicious, but he's clearly talented and is best of the rest.

  1. BENEVOLENTDICTATOR
  2. GARRANE (IRE)
  3. DON LAMI (FR)
