Disappointing since his Sedgefield success last November and needs to bounce back to form returning from 7 months off.

Sarvi^p²²

Age: 5| Weight: 11-11| J: B S Hughes| T: J S Goldie| OR: 98| C

10/3

Fair maiden hurdler who has been kept busy on the Flat this summer and posted a couple of respectable efforts over hurdles recently. One to consider.

Form: 68/26-45

Shady Character²⁴⁹

Age: 7| Weight: 11-11| J: Ross Turner⁽⁵⁾| T: O Greenall & J Guerriero| OR: 98

33/1

Third on sole start in points in Apr 2017. Not much solid form over hurdles and was pulled up on handicap debut 8 months ago.

Form: 3/P07P-

American Tom^t²²

Age: 9| Weight: 11-10| J: Blair Campbell⁽³⁾| T: Miss Lucinda V Russell| OR: 97| D

10/1

Fair hurdler/useful chaser at best in Ireland. Ran poorly both starts for Milton Bradley earlier this year and fared no better starting out for Lucinda Russell at Kelso recently.

Form: 4F/35P-8

Joie De Vivre⁵²

Age: 5| Weight: 11-10| J: Theo Gillard⁽⁷⁾| T: M Todhunter| OR: 97| BF

9/2

Fair winner at 12f on Flat who was progressing well over hurdles prior to a laboured effort (faced with quick turnaround) at Sedgefield last time. Can get back on the up after more of a break.

Form: 77525

Leeswood Lily³³

Age: 7| Weight: 11-9| J: Sean Quinlan| T: J Candlish| OR: 96

6/1

Modest form in bumpers/novice hurdles over hurdles but found little when seventh at Perth on handicap debut last month. Dropped 4 lb since but still hard to fancy.

Form: 326-857

Call Me Maizie²⁷⁸

Age: 5| Weight: 11-7| J: Dale Irving⁽³⁾| T: R M Smith| OR: 94

22/1

Looks limited on early evidence and makes little appeal back from 9 months off.

Form: 6879-

Elusive Red²⁴

Age: 6| Weight: 11-6| J: Lorcan Murtagh⁽³⁾| T: F P Murtagh| OR: 93

50/1

Some promise in bumpers but well held all 3 completed starts over hurdles. Hard to make a case for switched to handicaps.

Form: 39006-P

Fourth Of July^t²²

Age: 5| Weight: 11-4| J: Ryan Mania| T: R M Smith| OR: 91

18/5

Modest operator who ran well when mid-field in a novice at Kelso 22 days ago. More chance back in a handicap.

Form: P0329-5

Countermand^h³²

Age: 8| Weight: 11-0| J: Lucy Alexander| T: N W Alexander| OR: 87

25/1

Fair Flat winner back in 2015 for Andrew Balding but very lightly raced since, pulling hard and achieving nothing in 4 hurdle starts for current yard.

Form: 0/UP-7

Bullion⁴¹

Age: 7| Weight: 10-10| J: Alison Clarke⁽⁷⁾| T: J Ewart| OR: 83

11/1

Seems to retain little ability these days, so he's easily passed over.

Form: 760/U9-6

Non-Runners

Wise Coco²

Weight: 10-13| Age: 7

T: A C Whillans J: Callum Bewley

Forecasts

Wise Coco (2/1), Sarvi (10/3), Fourth Of July (18/5), Joie De Vivre (9/2), Leeswood Lily (6/1), Christmas In Usa (8/1), American Tom (10/1), Bullion (11/1), Call Me Maizie (22/1), Countermand (25/1), Shady Character (33/1), Elusive Red (50/1)

JOIE DE VIVRE shaped well when second at Sedgefield on handicap debut and can be forgiven a lesser effort there subsequently, so she's worth another chance to get off the mark over hurdles with Theo Gillard taking a useful 7 lb off. Wise Coco looks the obvious danger if she participates just 2 days on from a big effort over fences.
