C&D winner. Respectable third of 9 in handicap at this C&D (5/1) 28 days ago. First run for yard after leaving Charlie Wallis and he shouldn't be far away.

9/2, career best when winning 11-runner handicap at this C&D 12 days ago. That was her third success over C&D and a 5 lb rise shouldn't prevent this filly from taking a hand in the finish.

Lightly-raced maiden. Seventh of 10 in handicap at this course (6.1f, 28/1) 28 days ago, doing too much too soon. Others preferred.

Verdict

The vote goes to SMOKEY, who is comparatively unexposed and produced a career-best when scoring over C&D last month, for which a 4 lb rise is by no means harsh. A Go Go, successful here on 2 of her last 3 starts, is a much-respected main danger, while several of the others make each-way appeal, not least Knockabout Queen, who scored twice off higher marks (including here) in January.

  1. SMOKEY
  2. A GO GO
  3. KNOCKABOUT QUEEN
