Tonto's Spirit^p¹⁷

Age: 8| Weight: 12-3| J: C O'Farrell| T: Mrs Dianne Sayer| OR: 122| C

4/1

Front runner who took well to chasing, winning 3 races in the north last season, including here. Disappointing of late though, well below his best over fences/on Flat. Others preferred.

Raecius Felix²¹

Age: 6| Weight: 11-12| J: Henry Brooke| T: R Menzies| OR: 117

3/1

Maiden hurdler who has already proven a better chaser, opening his account in good style at Kelso (21.6f) last month. Still low mileage and claims for all his consistency is a slight concern.

Form: 2/P2-041

Mistercobar^t⁴⁶

Age: 8| Weight: 11-5| J: Mr James King⁽⁵⁾| T: O Murphy| OR: 110

5/1

Dual-point winner who opened Rules account at Market Rasen (21.4f) in March. Run with credit all 3 starts so far this term, runner-up at Uttoxeter (20f) in August and he should go well again.

Form: 251-432

Oak Vintage^p²⁰⁶

Age: 10| Weight: 10-9| J: Ross Chapman| T: P A Kirby| OR: 100| CD

13/2

Fair hurdler/chaser who won twice during 2018 (including over C&D). Efforts largely underwhelming last term, well held at Market Rasen in March but he does have quite a good record fresh at least.

Form: 6/45755-

Swinton Diamond²²

Age: 9| Weight: 10-3| J: Billy Garritty⁽⁵⁾| T: Micky Hammond| OR: 94

20/1

Fair winner over hurdles/fences in 2017/18, but offered little on belated return at Southwell (20.4f) in August and fell heavily at the first at Hexham (3m) last time. This should reveal more.

Form: 54U1/PF

My Renaissance^p,t⁸^{(ex 7)}

Age: 10| Weight: 10-2| J: Jonathan England| T: S England| OR: 86| C

9/4

Strong in the betting and duly capitalised on handicapper's mercy when scoring in fine style over extended 2m here last week. No surprise to see him out under a penalty and obvious claims up in trip.

Form: 56-7651

Forecasts

My Renaissance (9/4), Raecius Felix (3/1), Tonto's Spirit (4/1), Mistercobar (5/1), Oak Vintage (13/2), Swinton Diamond (20/1)

MY RENAISSANCE has yet to win over a trip this far but it was hard not to be impressed with his victory over the extended 2m here last week, produced to lead after 2 out and asserting quickly. He gets the nod to follow up under a penalty, with Kelso-scorer Raecius Felix next best ahead of Mistercobar.
