Overcame inexperience to make a winning start at Newmarket (6f). Much shaper in posting a near useful effort under his penalty when second over C&D and is open to further improvement.

Progressing at a rate of knots all of a sudden, following up his Chepstow success on his nursery debut at Goodwood (7f), going away at finish, and it's unlikely he's finished improving yet.

Improved to make in 2 wins from 4 starts on her nursery bow at Newmarket (6f), showing willing attitude under a strong ride. This is tougher but the step back up in trip could unlock further progress.

Showed much-improved form under a change of tactics (made running) to get off the mark at the third attempt in 7f Haydock novice 17 days ago, and the performance is backed up by the timefigure.

Well-bred son of Dark Angel who built on the promise of his debut when third of 9 in a strong 6f maiden at Ascot last month, closing all the way to the line. Will be suited by 7f and of interest.

Confirmed debut promise when landing a 6f Ripon maiden last month. Ran at least as well in defeat on his Ascot nursery debut since and looks ready for this step up to 7f now.

Made his second start a winning one in 5-runner maiden at Newmarket (6f) in June, needing every yard to reel in runner-up, so is sure to be suited by this step up in trip on nursery bow. Shortlisted

Is better than he could show on both his starts to date, needing stronger gallop at Catterick last time, so remains with potential now venturing into handicaps.

Showed plenty in a deep race at Ascot on debut and ran at least as well in finding only one too good at Chepstow (6.1f), sticking to task. Opening mark fair.

Doesn't have the most inspiring pedigree but has been placed on all his 3 starts so far, caught further back than ideal at Newmarket last week. Should be suited by this trip.

Clear signs of ability on debut and built on that when third upped to this trip at Newcastle. Not seen to best effect in a messy race at Goodwood last time and remains with potential. Cheekpieces on.

Verdict

A warm-looking nursery with MAYAAS receiving the vote. William Haggas' charge built on his debut promise in a strong race at Ascot last month, and looks to have been handed a lenient opening mark based on that. Bonnyrigg could also have been underestimated by the assessor with this step up in trip a big plus. The fast-improving Mark of The Man is also well respected in his hat-trick bid.
