5-time C&D winner who got back on track when ½-length third of 12 in handicap at this C&D (good, 14/1) 14 days ago (treated for post-race heat stress). Has same mark to work with.
Won over C&D and at Ripon in 2019 but mostly poor efforts since, soon off bridle last time. Others more persuasive on return.
Confirmed reappearance promise when making all in 10-runner handicap (5/1) at Ayr (6f, good to firm) 25 days ago. Well ridden on that occasion but seems sure to give another good account.
Won Wetherby maiden on debut last year. Placed next 3 starts but well held after. Has been gelded ahead of return.
Dead heated for first in 11-runner maiden at Thirsk (6f, good) 59 days ago. More needed now handicapping.
Ninth of 13 in handicap at Ripon (6f, good to firm, 8/1) 37 days ago. Needs to bounce back.
Sixteen runs since last win in 2018. 33/1 and cheekpieces on for 1st time, shaped as if back in form when third of 11 in handicap at Doncaster (6f, good to firm) 20 days ago.
Cheekpieces on for 1st time, shaped better than distance beaten suggests when sixth of 13 in handicap at this course (5f, good, 7/1) 22 days ago. Not one to give up on, especially now tackling 6f.
Confirmed previous promise when winning 16-runner handicap at Redcar (7f, good to firm) 18 days ago, keeping on well. Will continue to give a good account.
Winner at Beverley in June. Below form fifth of 13 in handicap (15/2) at this course (5f, good) 22 days ago, not looking a natural 5f horse. Should stay 6f.
Looked a bit rusty back sprinting when 4 lengths fifth of 10 to Jordan Electrics in handicap at Ayr (6f, good to firm, 12/1) 25 days ago, slowly away.
Forecasts
Jordan Electrics (7/2), Mr Orange (5/1), Lincoln Gamble (11/2), What A Business (6/1), Electric Mistress (8/1), Only Alone (17/2), Coastal Mist (12/1), Araifjan (14/1), Castlehill Retreat (16/1), Jungle Inthebungle (28/1), Penny Pot Lane (66/1)
ARAIFJAN has a difficult draw to contend with again but he's running better than his recent form figures suggest and the step up to 6f could do the trick. Jordan Electrics and course-specialist Mr Orange head the opposition.
- ARAIFJAN
- JORDAN ELECTRICS
- MR ORANGE (IRE)
