Useful handicapper at his best on the Flat (also ran to a fair level over hurdles spring 2019, runner-up twice), easy to back on return from 16 months off on AW (16f). One of two that the stable run this trip may well appear on the short side.
On a losing sequence that's starting to build although he still appears in good heart; has returned some creditable efforts. Not seen to best advantage last time at Ripon (14f) in a small-field handicap, took second, in the mix off an unchanged mark.
Ascot 12f winner last year off a 1lb higher mark, yet to hit top form since the restart.. Had excuses on both occasions though the more recent 12f race at Ascot not being run to suit; travels well, needs a strong pace to run at, visor on first-time.
Goodwood winner over this trip last year (4lb lower mark), only seen twice since disappointing when last seen over 16f at Kempton (trip not the problem). Ought to be competitive off this mark but fitness is an issue, record fresh is questionable.
C&D winner off a 6lb lower mark last year who bounced back to form last time having suffered a below-par run the time before. Proved more tractable to restraint last time (patient tactics tried last two starts), mark edging upwards, more needed.
Without a win since 2017 despite on occasions showing some useful form over staying trips. Returns from a significant absence having been well held when last seen, on the upside the handicapper is starting to relinquish his grip.
Flat/hurdles winner for Andrew Balding prior to running well over hurdles on debut for this yard. Given a spin over C&D on heavy ground after 18-months off last month, tenderly handled (never dangerous), mark easing (yet to win a handicap).
Yet to run on the Flat for this yard (two runs on the level, 12f, for Hugo Palmer), shaped as though needing the run (finished well held) when making his hurdles debut last month. Reverts to the Flat for his handicap debut off what looks a fair mark.
Dual course winner, (once over this trip), well suited by staying contests but not getting any younger. Started this Flat season higher in the weights that for a while, been well held in both starts so far, still above last winning mark.
Versatile sort who comes here on the back of a Stratford novice chase win, showed he could still cut it on the Flat on yard debut running a good second at Sandown (14f). Nudged up 3lb but still well handicapped on his hurdles form, interesting.
First run for this yard not seen on the Flat since 2018 but was in good form that year in this sphere winning four times at up to 12.1f. Returns from a break having run well over hurdles in February, nicely-weighted if ready to hit his stride.
Not the easiest to train (has had wind surgery), not won since 2016 but only run eight times since then. Respectable efforts this term over varied trips, eased 3lb from his last run may be enough to make him competitive in an open contest.
Course winner (16.2f) off a 1lb lower last year but yet to hit form this season despite being well found in the market last time at Ripon. Mark continues to fall but does need to show more and likely to be found wanting at this level.

Not an easy contest to work out, some with questions to answer and the safest to side with may well be LEONCAVALLO who shaped well on his first Flat outing in a long while when making his stable debut. His recent easy win over fences will have given him further confidence and he still looks nicely weighted in this sphere. Ottonian is one of the more interesting players after his York return having had over three years off, he’s been given a little break since then while Western Duke (first-time visor), Grandee and Referee are three others who merit consideration. The easing in the weights Ajman Prince can’t be ignored and neither can Weather Front who is nicely weighted on his hurdles form.
