Well held on handicap bow at Newmarket recently when stepped up in trip to 1m2f; drops back here with improvement to find and first-time blinkers applied.
Nine-race maiden but has shown enough to suggests a win should be within his compass; only beaten a half-length when second at Yarmouth (1m, good; 11-2) in first-time blinkers (retained) nine days ago and due a 3lb rise after this.
Better run last time at Chepstow (7f, good; 22-1) when finishing less than 2L down in third; stamina for this trip an unknown but has Oisin Murphy's help for the first time and should go well.
Improved on handicap bow at Sandown (7f, good; 22-1) to get within 4L of the winner in finishing sixth; up to the mile here for the first time and can be competitive.
Six-race maiden; posted a better effort at Chepstow (7f, good; 40-1) recently under Luke Morris' steer but will have to take another step forward on that now tackling a mile for the first time.
Promising start in October in 1m1½f Wolverhampton novice but hasn't built on that; beaten combined tally of 47L in two turf runs since returning to action and much to ponder currently.
Kodiac filly has improved somewhat since being switched to handicaps this summer; but there's still work to be done. Cheekpieces added today.
Five-race maiden, never in the mix when beating only two of 13 rivals home at Kempton last month over this trip; has to take a sizeable step forward back on turf on evidence available.
Forecasts
Robert Guiscard (9/4), Ethics Approval (4/1), Silver Cliffs (5/1), Alfies Watch (5/1), Some Picture (9/1), Game Over (10/1), Barking Mad (12/1), Miraz (28/1)
The first-time blinkers appeared to have a positive effect on ROBERT GUISCARD when he was second at Yarmouth nine day ago and, assuming the headgear works again, he can go one better before going up in the ratings. Oisin Murphy takes over on Barking Mad and they'll have a chance if stamina isn’t an issue while Silver Cliffs and Some Picture have claims on the minor money.
