Flat debut here but made a big impression in bumpers last season with wins at Huntingdon and an impressive Listed contest at Newbury. Not disgraced when 10L sixth in Champion Bumper at the festival and fascinating contender in this sphere.
27 race maiden who is rated just 37 and impossible to be positive about against rivals with plenty of promise.
Sent off 4/1 for 1m4f debut at Newmarket in June but was 26L last of five and needs to leave that form well behind to be of interest today.
20/1 for 1m debut at Chepstow in June but showed nothing that day finishing tailed off last and not hard to look elsewhere.
Slowly away on debut but showed plenty more when 14L fifth of 12 at Kempton last time. Likely to do better in handicaps after this.
12/1 for recent Windsor debut over 1m2f and shaped with promise without been given a hard race at all. Sure to do better with that experience behind him and this longer trip also in his favour.
Improved in last two runs over 1m2f and now look ready for this step up in trip. Newbury second last time has been franked by the third home winning since and stable in better form now.
Hung left when showing improved form to finish 7L third of 12 over this trip at Kempton. Will appreciate going this way around and should have more to come with just the two runs under his belt.
Not really progressing in two runs this term but just possible that the easy ground both times hasn't suited and the switch back to the AW with cheekpieces now added make him of interest.
€21,000 foal. Half-brother to some good winners including Diocletian and Sam Cooke. Starting off at the right trip and interesting to see what the market makes of his chances on this belated debut.
€20,000 as a two-year-old. Half-brother to pair of winners in America at up to 1m2f but yard not associated with first-time winners in such races and probably best watched here.
Hasn't shown enough in two starts at huge prices to be of interest here and work to do to reverse Kempton form with a couple of these.
Unseated rider at the start last autumn so it was effectively his debut when staying on into midfield over 1m2f at Haydock last month. This longer trip a plus and the type to improve with experience.
Drop down to 1m2f on handicap debut last time was not in her favour though she again showed enough to suggest she has a race in her. This extra distance will help and should appreciate the likely stronger gallop here.
Forecasts
Mersin (7/2), Ocean Wind (9/2), Tao Te Ching (9/2), Red Missile (5/1), Hasty Sailor (11/2), Arabic Welcome (13/2), Nevendon (16/1), Tindrum (40/1), Rick Blaine (50/1), Exclaim (125/1), Sachamak (150/1), Signal Twenty Nine (200/1), Emperor Alley (200/1), Stay In The Light (300/1)
An interesting maiden for this stage of the season and while the likes of Red Missile, Tao Te Ching and Mersin have shown enough to suggest a maiden like this is in their locker, it may be worth taking a chance on OCEAN WIND. Roger Teal's four-year-old showed himself to be one of the best bumper horses trained here last winter and is a fascinating contender.
- Ocean Wind
- Red Missile
- Mersin
