Beautifully bred Night Of Thunder colt out of 1000 Guineas winner Ameerat. Promising second on debut at Sandown in June then impressed when winning next time over C&D. Straight into handicap company off 80 and is open to further improvement.
Easily won 6f Newbury novice last year on debut for Eve Johnson Houghton and ran creditably on other occasions last term. Joined current yard in July and solid fourth over 7f at Kempton last month despite an awkward start. Should strip fitter now.
Sprang a 40/1 shock on debut leading close home in 7f Haydock novice event in June. Beaten quite a long way when fourth on step up to 1m in Thirsk novice time after and still has stamina to prove. Yard in tremendous form at present.
Short-head second in Bevenrley 7.5f novice auction best effort from five runs last year but begun in style this campaign winning 1m h'caps at Yarmouth then in fine style over C&D last time. 6lb higher now but seems sure to run a good race.
Seven-race maiden but failed by just a nose to get off the mark at Kempton in January over 6f before disappointing at Chelmsford in February. Having first run since and tackles 1m now so has both stamina and fitness to prove.
Yet to race on turf in handicap company having had three starts this summer over 1m on AW tracks running creditably each time but looking a little one paced in finish. More needed and questionable whether 1lb drop will be enough to do the trick.
Represents last year's winning stable. Three starts in 7f novices last summer then absent nearly 11 months. Didn't show much on return at Kempton in June but better when third to fair sort in Wolverhampton 8.5f novice last month. Handicap bow here.
Forecasts
Taawfan (10/11), Alibaba (9/2), Mon Choix (5/1), Rogue Assassin (15/2), Special Secret (10/1), Wightman (50/1), Winnetka (66/1)
C&D novice winner Taawfan is completely unexposed, could be anything, and deserves plenty of respect on this handicap bow. She might easily win but may not be value with form of her victory last time open to question. ALIBABA appears a safer choice having bolted up over C&D last time and he may well be up to defying a 6lb rise as he goes for a hat-trick. Wightman is a danger having shaped nicely last time but this is only the second ride for his young rider who will do well to outwit older heads, but Special Secret ran a race of promise last time and could be a danger to all if she stays this new trip.
