Class 4  |   1m 3f 179y  |   Good to Firm  |   7 Runners  |   Turf

Weighed In

Off time: 15:40  |   Winning time: 2m 34.73s

Age: 7|  Weight: 9-9  |  J: Nicola Currie |  T: A M Hales|  OR: 80|  CD

C&D winner was placed over hurdles at Southwell (good) in July last year and is an interesting runner on his first Flat start since finishing eighth on the all-weather over 1m4f at Kempton the previous March.

Age: 4|  Weight: 9-6  |  J: Andrea Atzeni |  T: Ed Walker|  OR: 77

Struggled in two turf starts since returning from a break and others hold more obvious claims racing off a mark 2lb higher than when winning at Salisbury (1m2f, good) in September last year.

Age: 4|  Weight: 9-6  |  J: Joshua Bryan |  T: A M Balding|  OR: 77|  D

Decent fifth at York (1m4f, good-to-soft) on first start back from a break and showed improved form when runner-up over the same trip at Pontefract (good-to-firm) a fortnight later. One to note despite a 2lb rise in the weights.

Age: 4|  Weight: 9-5  |  J: R L Moore |  T: M Johnston|  OR: 76

Impressive 1m2f novice race winner at Chelmsford in January but struggled when last of eight over the same trip at Ayr (good-to-firm) on handicap debut last month. Likely capable of better stepping up in distance.

Age: 4|  Weight: 9-5  |  J: S M Levey |  T: P F I Cole|  OR: 76

Winner of a 1m2f novice race at Lingfield (good) just under a year ago but struggled over an extended 1m3f at Windsor (soft) in October on his most recent start. Worth a check in the market on seasonal debut.

Age: 4|  Weight: 9-3  |  J: Ben Robinson |  T: B Ellison|  OR: 74|  D

Twice a winner this year including by ½L in a 1m4f handicap at Catterick (good) last month. Bold show expected off this 2lb higher mark.

Age: 7|  Weight: 9-2  |  J: Kevin Stott |  T: A W Carroll|  OR: 73|  C

Ran well when 4½L fourth in a handicap over 1m2f at Windsor (good-to-firm) last month. Dropped 1lb for that effort and interesting to see how he performs back up in distance.

Purdey's Gift (13/8), Starfighter (9/2), The Dancing Poet (9/2), Long Call (7/1), Sandyman (7/1), Thai Terrier (16/1), Panko (25/1)

Last time out winner THE DANCING POET looks capable of following up in this handicap event. The selection is improving with racing this Flat campaign and he is taken to get the better of Thai Terrier who can leave his latest effort behind him by claiming second stepping up in distance. Third place can go the way of Purdey's Gift who finished runner-up over this trip on his most recent start.
