210,000 gns Night Of Thunder colt improving in each of three starts; behind likes of Tactical and Twaasol prior to coming right away for easy Windsor success recently. Stable remain in super form (6-16) and big claims despite weight concession.
C&D winner on second start in June, only defeating two rivals but the runner-up has franked the form since and, with trainer in winning form here this week, has claims getting plenty weight from likely hotpot.
No Nay Never filly shaped nicely on debut at Windsor and game when scoring narrowly at Kempton next time (6f). Should be further improvement to come back on turf.
Bit green on debut at Newmarket over 5f but next-time-out second to subsequent Listed winner Gussy Mac a strong effort. Held again since at Windsor and goes up in trip for h'cap bow with improvement to find.
Acclamation filly, made it 2-4 when winning on handicap bow at York (6f, good) last weekend; scoring with a bit in hand. Carries a 6lb penalty for that win but likely to remain competitive.
Competitive in all three novice starst at 5f/6f despite starting no shorter than 14-1 in the betting; can likely take a step forward again on handicap bow and could go well from stall one.
Belardo colt can't match the form of some of these on what he's achieved in three runs; steps up distance now handicapping but will require a chunk of improvement to be in the shake-up.
Won a novice auction at Lingfield on the AW over 5f on second start in June and thankless tasks since in Queen Mary at Royal Ascot and Super Sprint at Newbury; h'cap bow but remains with plenty improvement to find.
Forecasts
Zamaani (1/1), Julie Johnston (4/1), Perotto (7/1), Thank You Next (9/1), Rooster (14/1), Porfin (14/1), Sayifyouwill (22/1), Risque (28/1)
Mark Johnston won this last year and has claims again with penalised York scorer Julie Johnston, who remains on a workable mark. C&D maiden winner Perotto is also strongly considered with his trainer amongst the winners here his week and likely improvement to come on handicap bow but ZAMAANI could be hard to beat despite giving lots of weight away. He was behind some smart types on his first two starts and cleared away to win at Windsor 18 days ago seemingly with any amount in hand. The handicapper tests that theory from an opening mark of 89 but the Night Of Thunder colt may prove himself equal to the challenge for a yard in blistering recent form.
