Pedigree suggests the gelding could be effective on the AW but he's shown enough in three previous starts (5f/6f) to suggest he can pay his way at a modest level on turf too. Needs a step forward from his latest outing though.

Ignored in the betting in both previous starts and made very little impression as she finished last on both occasions; at least qualifies for a handicap mark after this but she hasn't shown enough to merit a recommendation at this stage.

Finished 1¾L behind Lazyitis on debut at Beverley earlier this month before meeting a bit of trouble in running back at the same course six days ago. Definite signs of ability, though, and not much to find to be in the mix this time.

Didn't show much on her racecourse bow at Beverley last month but ran way above expectations back on the Westwood 13 days ago. Needs another step forward but can be thereabouts in this company. (Comfortably held Day Job last time.)

Cost just £800 as a yearling; has speed in her bloodlines but her dam was a modest performer on a racecourse. Stable going well but more than likely this filly will be a lot sharper for a run.

€2,200 yearling; she's a half-sister to 5f/6f winner Dandyleekie and is out of an unraced half-sister to a daughter of Prix du Cardan (2m4f, Group 1) winner Invermark; yard going well, so still worth a betting check in a modest race like this.

Forecasts

Ready Freddie Go (11/8), Lazyitis (3/1), Day Job (7/2), Northern Grey (11/1), Giovinezza (14/1), Lady Artela (20/1)

Verdict

Modest stuff gets us underway at Musselburgh but this level might be within reach for LAZYITIS, who ran way above expectations when outgunning the likes of Day Job to finish second at Beverley a fortnight ago. No surprise to see the Swiss Spirit filly confirm the form with her old rival and get off the mark at the third time of asking in the process. Ready Freddie Go has shown some ability and also merits a betting check, while Northern Grey looks the most interesting of the two newcomers and is another to bear in mind if the betting market indicates there's a solid chance of her making a winning debut.
  1. Lazyitis
  2. Day Job
  3. Ready Freddie Go
