Only narrowly denied in the Queen Alexandra Stakes and has shown his best form over marathon distances. His previous course effort is a slight concern (tailed off last) and might be vulnerable to better handicapped sorts.
Has good form in staying handicaps including when only beaten half a length in last year's Cesarewitch and third at Royal Ascot on return. Wasn't himself at Sandown latest and he's the type to bounce back.
Won his first two starts for Aidan O'Brien but hasn't won since; not disgraced at Royal Ascot last time; will probably need some relief from the handicapper before he gets his head back in front though.
Just about a career best when winning the Ascot Stakes last time. A 3lb rise is perfectly fair but might need some luck in running and that's not guaranteed at this venue.
Only narrowly denied on return and bounced back from below par effort at Ascot with a respectable run in defeat at Newbury; will need more to win this.
Won back-to-back 2m handicaps last year and not disgraced in any of his three starts this term; showed this sort of trip was no issue in the Ascot Stakes and his jockey has a good recent record in this race.
Only beaten 1½l by Coeur De Lion in the Ascot Stakes but failed to build on that when back at Newcastle later that month. Freshened up since and a return to this longer trip may play to his strengths.
Progressed well last year winning three times but well below his best in three starts this year. Still 2lb above his last winning mark and plenty to prove at present up in trip.
Only beaten 1l in this race last year and not beaten far in two runs this year, probably left with too much to do at Newury last time out when only beaten 1l. Ought to be thereabouts again, just 4lb above last year's mark.
On a losing run since back-to-back wins in staying races in 2018. Still 4lb above his last winning mark and well held in a couple of runs since the restart.
Dual purpose performer who bolted up on his return to the Flat at Southwell and won from his revised mark at Pontefract last month. This longer trip could suit and can go well again from a 3lb higher mark.
Arrives bidding for a hat-trick after back to back wins over 2m at Beverley. Untried at this sort of trip on the Flat but has stayed on well in his last two starts, suggesting a marathon trip may suit.
Gained a first win since landing an AW four-timer back in 2018 when over 1m6f at Sandown on return. Beaten a long way at Newcastle subsequently though and doesn't seem the most consistent type these days.
Narrowly denied when beaten just a neck in this last year and back on the same mark having not won since. Respectable effort behind Oleg on return at Pontefract but failed to build on that latest.
Won a novice event over 1m4f at Southwell in January. Runner-up on handicap debut back at that venue and returned from lockdown with a close third at Musselburgh latest. This is much tougher from out the handicap; wears first-time cheekpieces.

A typically competitive renewal of this race but Mark Johnston has a good record in this race and SUMMER MOON has plenty of positives in his favour. He's versatile from a tactics perspective and he's run well in some big field handicaps including when not beaten far in last year's Cesarewitch. He was below his best when last seen in a Group 3 at Sandown but he has one in him from this sort of mark in handicaps. True Destiny wasn't beaten far in this last year and can go well again while Coeur de Lion is only up 3lb for his recent Ascot success.

- True Destiny
