Gained reward for two second places with win in Musselburgh 7f maiden auction event at the start of the month then beaten odds-on when third there under his penalty last time. Faces no easy task giving weight again but won't be far away.

£25,000 Mayson colt related to six winner. Dam won over 1m. Looked green early stages on debut at Newbury earlier this month but was staying on nicely inside the final furlong. Will be sharper now and could go well for top yard.

Belardo colt cost 18,000gns as a yearling. Dam maiden half-sister to Group 2 1m4f winner High Accolade. Yard can ready one on debut but will probably improve for this first racecourse appearance.

By The Gurkha out of dam placed in Listed company at 1m1f. Half-brother to decent Sands Chorus and three other winners. Yard in good form and 2-5 to date with turf juvenile runners.

Mixed messages on pedigree being by speedy Twilight Son out of a mare who was unplaced at up to 1m4f. Surprise if he's good enough to make his mark first time and others are preferred.

12,000gns son of Free Eagle out of unraced mare who is full-sister to a US 6f winner. Stable among the winners but had very few juvenile runners so far this term and may be best watched this time.

£13,000 gelding by Anodin out of dam of little account but who is half-sister to a UAE 6f Group 1 winner. Stable fairly quiet at present and little concerning he makes debut with tongue-tie applied.

Mukhadram colt out of a Sir Percy mare who won as a juvenile at 6-7.5f. Showed very little on debut when last of 14 in Ripon 6f maiden auction stakes recently and looks to have a lot on his plate one again. Wears a hood this time.

26,000gns Dark Angel filly out of Invincible Spirit mare who won over 6f. Plenty of pace in pedigree so little concerning she starts off at this trip. Yard gone fairly quiet of late.
Stable companion of Olivia Mary. 22,000 euros daughter of in-form sire Make Believe out of dam places in Listed company at 1m1f. Interesting pedigree and worth noting for any signs of stable confidence.

£12,000 daughter of Anjaal out of 1m winner. Made fair start when fourth of 10 last month over 6f at Newcastle and will have gained valuable experience. Extra 1f looks within range and comes very much into the reckoning.

Maker Of Light (13/8), Night Moment (5/2), Sugauli (4/1), Alpine Springs (11/2), Hemsworth (12/1), Book of Secrets (28/1), Tricolore (33/1), Olivia Mary (33/1), Vivid Imagination (33/1), Bague D'or (40/1), Sepah (40/1), Cecco Bravo (125/1)

Verdict

Musselburgh winner Night Moment sets the standard but was found out under his penalty last time and it could be more of the same here. There was quite a bit to like about the way MAKER OF LIGHT finished off his race on debut at Newbury earlier this month having been very green and all at sea to halfway. This longer trip will suit and his yard remains in fine form. Alpine Springs also showed promise on debut and there is every chance she will make her presence felt, while of the newcomers Hemsworth and Sugauli are of most interest hailing from in-form yards and both have appealing pedigrees.
