Unlucky to still be a maiden after 13 races as passed the post first at Brighton last term only to be dsiauqlified by the stewards. Noted making late headway on reappearance at Salisbury earlier this month over 1m6f but this trip also suits.

Heavy ground Carlisle 1m3f h'cap winner in May 2019 and has gone close a few times since then. Handles decent ground as showed when third over C&D last time off this mark so shouldn't be too far away once again.

First winner for new trainer when won at Salisbury 1m4f h'cap last month and expected to be competitive one again off 3lb higher. Previous C&D winner and has been second on each of his last course visits.

Easily landed Kempton 1m4f h'cap in December but has yet to reach a place in four previous attempts on turf and there has to be suspicion he saves his best for the artificial surfaces.

Made a fine return to the fray when winning over C&D in June off 2lb lower mark then combination of 1m6f and soft ground saw him struggle at Haydock latest. This is more his game and no reason why he shouldn't again been in the thick of the action.

Three wins in France at up to 1m2f for previous connections and only real form since joining current yard last summer has been when twice place at Kempton 1m4f. Absent since March and has a bit of improvement to find.

First win since 2017 when scoring last time out on reappearance, staying on strongly to land Newmarket 1m2f soft ground h'cap. 4lb higher but should stay and would be helped by any showers easing the ground.

400,000gns Sea The Stars filly, half-sister to Group 3-winning miler. Third in all three starts so far including on handicap bow over 1m2f at Salisbury latest. Kept on one pace that day and extra trip here may help.

Shapes as though capable of winning a race or two and can be marked up for recent fourth at Yarmouth 1m2f as failed to gain a clear run at a vital stage of the race. This trip may suit even better and off 1lb lower looks set to play his part.

Showed little to shout about first four outings but the penny drop last time when stayed on to win course 1m2f h'cap by a short-head. Crying out for this longer distance and despite 6lb rise looks set to be very competitive.

Both wins came at Southwell 1m4f in early 2019 and has been disappointing most starts since then, including on turf. Handicap mark has dived as a consequence but is hard to fancy despite lowest ever mark.

Forecasts

Buriram (10/3), Grinling (9/2), Burano Boy (11/2), Queen Of The Sea (6/1), Golden Wolf (7/1), C'Est No Mour (9/1), Lord Halifax (9/1), Grey D'Ars (18/1), Bombero (22/1), Htilominlo (28/1), Temur Khan (80/1)

Verdict

BURANO BOY is taken to get off the mark having caught the eye when fourth, staying on, over 1m2f at Yarmouth last time where he met trouble in running. This trip will suit him well. There are plenty of dangers in an open affair with Newmarket winner Golden Wolf sure to go well, as too is previous C&D winner Bombero, who didn't get home over further in soft ground last time, and Grinling who got up late to score here last time over 1m2f. This will be more to his liking. Salisbury winner C'est No Mour, Buriram and Queen Of The Sea are among others with fair claims in an interesting contest.
