Useful last year when with Karl Burke, best effort coming over 1m at Chelmsford last October but not refound that form in two starts at sprint trips for new yard as yet. Bit to prove at present and others preferred.
Made the most of a very easy opportunity over 5f here last year (for Owen Burrows) but hasn't beaten a horse home in two starts since the resumption of racing and can only be watched until showing a bit more.
On a good mark at present, being 4lb lower than last win, but that was well over a year ago and his form in two starts this season has been very moderate. Yet to win at 6f either, and others make more appeal.
Much happier on the all-weather surfaces than turf, as he showed when returned to Newcastle on latest start, second in a 7f claimer. Has plenty of course form to his name and looks nailed-on to run his race once again.
Game sort that finds plenty for pressure, and has been running himself into top form, only beaten a neck by a well-handicapped one at Haydock last time. Might be happier at 5f these days than six, but nevertheless, he will give it a good go.
Looking very well handicapped on the best of his form, and his effort at Ayr last time suggested he's starting to slowly regain his form this season. Might ideally want a bit further but not out of this if they go quick early on.
Pontefract winner last year but three starts this season suggest he's gone right off the boil, and he was never in it at Haydock on his latest start (sent off 100-1). Not hard to look elsewhere for the winner in his current frame of mind.
Runner-up on three of his four starts to date, but becoming a little expensive to follow, beaten favourite last three. Not really improving either and this mark was beyond him at Haydock two starts back, so probably needs to improve a little.
Has improved on all of her five starts to date, culminating in her ready C&D win last time out, quickening nicely late on to put the race to bed. Hit with a 9lb rise for that but she's clearly going the right way, and is taken seriously.
No more than steady progress in four starts to date, and was far too keen for her own good when a well held fourth over C&D on latest start. Needs to settle better and see her race out, and then might progress again if she does.
Won a couple of handicaps for Richard Spencer in the autumn of last year, mixed form on three starts for new yard but it was better here over 7f on latest effort, ran on late for fourth. This drop back in trip not necesaarily a positive, though.
Looked quietly progressive throughout last year, winning a low grade big field handicap at Doncaster last June, but was a bit disappointing when made favourite on her reappaearance at Newmarket last month. Possible to find excuses for that.
Acts on the track, as he showed when hitting the frame in a 7f novice here last December but not really gone on from that, and was well below par on reappearance at Windsor last month. Something to prove after that, and others make more appeal.
Forecasts
Blazing Hot (3/1), Fuchsia (7/2), Bayar (5/1), Victory Rose (15/2), Absolutio (10/1), Lucky Lodge (10/1), Heavens Open (14/1), Stallone (20/1), Kidda (22/1), Red Stripes (28/1), Woodside Wonder (28/1), Ustath (33/1), Another Angel (66/1)
Red Stripes is drawn to attack from the inside berth and if getting loose, has his chance, but there is competiton for the lead here and he may have to settle for the places. WOODSIDE WONDER is going to need a bit of luck in running from stall 12 but a fast pace will suit him well, as he stays a bit further, and he might be starting to run himself into a bit of form. He's very well handicapped if that's the case, and is worth chancing. Lucky Lodge doesn't know how to run a poor one and should be on the premises. Fuchsia is improving quickly and looks a danger to all.
- Woodside Wonder
- Red Stripes
- Fuchsia
