Bred for speed being by the precocious sire Mehmas, but failed to land a telling blow when 11th on debut at Cork (6f) this month. Maybe one who needs a bit of time.

Twice-raced maiden. Well-held in both starts to date, including behind Group 3-second at Naas (6f) last month. Needs to progress once more to be competitive.

Mehmas filly. Given stiff task on debut and ran accordingly when 13L last of 10 at Leopardstown (7f) this month. Back to sprinting but this looks equally as tough.

Outsider in both of her starts to date and ran a little better than expected when beaten 7L at Limerick (6f) over a week ago. Still needs plenty more once again in this though.

Regally-bred War Front filly. Full-sister to multiple Group 1 winners U S Navy Flag (6f-7f) and Roly Poly (1m). Dam was a top Group 1 winner on the track and full sister to Group 1 winner Ballydoyle. Looks the one to beat on paper.

80,000 gns purchase as a juvenile. Half-sister to 1m winner Sea Trout Reach. Dam was unplaced on the track but related to Group 3 winner/classic second East. Notable if there is market support.

Bred to be smart and exceeded expectations on debut when denied by a neck over C&D last month. Every chance she can step forward once more. Shortlisted.

Very cheap purchase as a yearling and unfancied for debut effort. Ran accordingly when last of 13 at Limerick (6f) and set for another uphill task.

90,000 gns yearling. First foal out of 1m winning dam, closely related to French Derby/Champion Stakes winner Almanzor (1m2f). Some smart pedigree for top yard. Considered.

Unsold as a foal. Half-sister to winners Echo (1m-2m), Wilwams (7f) and Sir Antonelli (7f). Pedigree isn't the most taking and yard not known for winners. Opposed.

€220,000 yearling purchase. Sister to 7f winner Frank Arthur, half-sister to Group 3 winner Arnold Lane (7f) and Ainslie (1m1f). Nice enough pedigree and one to be with in time.

Acclamation homebred. Sister to 5f juvenile winner Chattanooga Boy, half-sister to 7f AW winner Beau Warrior and dam was a winner over 5f. Related to juvenile Group 1 winner Dick Whittington so bred to be about speed.

€42,000 yearling. Half-sister to German 1m6f winner Quita. Dam was a winner in Germany over 1m3f and related to French 1m2f Group 3 winner. Should do better over further.

Dragon Pulse filly out of a Compton Place mare. Raced mid-division and never really went when 11th on debut at Limerick (6f) over a week ago and looks very vulnerable in this.

€21,000 yearling purchase. Half-sister to winners Almalekiah (6f), Almoqatel (7f) and Kobal Kolor (1m2f). Dam unraced half-sister to Grade 3 US winner. Remains an unknown prospect.
Homebred. Half-sister to 1m2f winner Robinnielly, 1m winner Blue Connoisseur. Dam unraced but related to some pattern winners, but this looks tough for debut effort.

Verdict

It hard not to be enthused by the profile of ELIZABETHAN in this race. The Coolmore-owned filly is bred to the purple being related to a plethora of Group 1 winners and could be a real top juvenile filly prospect this season. If she lives up to the perceived expectation, she could be very hard to beat on debut. Palifico showed real professional when going down by only a neck on debut and has an experience edge over rivals and more improvement is likely. The likes of Harannda and Rosa Woodsii are bred nicely, but should improve greatly for this over further distances.
  1. Elizabethan
  2. Palifico
  3. Harannda
