Four-time winner in 2017 and 2018 but not returned the same horse since mammoth absence. Beaten 21L in 1m4f York handicap this month and may need ample more time to come back to himself. Opposed.

Doesn't win that often but tends to run creditably each time. Only beaten 2L into fifth at Hamilton (1m5f) last time and finally gets some respite from the handicapper. Shortlisted.

Landed two bumpers in the National Hunt sphere last term but regressed from good second in 1m4f novice here when 81L eighth at Pontefract (1m4f) in October. Comes into this off wind surgery and market will probably be the best guide.

Proven stayer at this level, but not in the best of form this term. Regressed from tame return when 23L 12th at Haydock (1m6f) earlier this month and requires a bounce back now.

Dual winner in the Autumn of last season and had returned with some quiet efforts before narrow second in 2m Musselburgh handicap two weeks ago. Escapes a penalty for that and looks set to fo well.

Forecasts

Grandee (13/8), Kensington Art (5/2), Contrebasse (4/1), Rory And Me (5/1), Bolder Bob (22/1)

Verdict

Two make the most obvious appeal in the field but the who gets a significant weight allowance in KENSINGTON ART is fancied to get back on the winning keel. While this represents a step back up in class, the four-year-old has run well at this level before, and with his last run suggesting he's coming back into his best form, there is every chance he is one step ahead of the handicapper. Grandee is frustrating when it comes to winning but he finally gets eased 1lb for his creditable efforts. He is likely to run up to his mark once more, while Rory And Me has claims on his neck-second in a novice event here last year, and has gone well enough when racing fresh before.
  1. Kensington Art
  2. Grandee
  3. Rory And Me
