Dual Worcester 2m4f h'cap hurdle winner last summer for Johnny Farrelly. Disappointed last month on first start for current handler on Flat but did much better three days later when second at Kempton in 2m Flat h'cap. Still 5lb higher than last win.
Won two 2m4f h'cap hurdles at Market Rasen in spring 2019 but lightly raced with just three starts since then. Pulled up when well beaten on chase bow at Market Rasen earlier this month and has questions to answer at present.
Grand servant winning 10 races so far in long career including over C&D. First run for 131 days and good second at Southwell recently suggests she's in good heart and will be competitive despite 1lb rise.
Winner of 12-29 races under both codes but lightly raced last two years. Yet to score beyond 2m1f and despite 6-13 hurdles record stamina has to be a concern. From top yard though and stable confidence would be enouraging sign he'll get home.
Won Fontwell 2m3f and Plumpton 2m1f novice hurdles last year. Fair run first start back at Southwell 2m recently when chance but jumped slowly last and finished fifth. Should stay and will strip fitter here off 1lb lower.
Ludlow 2m h'cap chase winner last term but has scored over timber in Ireland 2m in 2017. Hasn't convinced that he will stay this trip but should be sharper for spin over 2m at Southwell earlier this month.
Stayed on dourly when winning over C&D last August off 5lb lower, but fell 7th on chasing bow at Kempton in October and not seen since. Nine-month absence to overcome but may not be far away if fully tuned up.
Veteran winner of 12 starts to date, eight at this track. Yet to score over this far and it may be asking too much for this teenager to stretch his stamina to the limit despite his love for this venue.
2-22 over hurdles, last win coming over 2m4f at Wincanton in May 2019 off 1lb lower mark. Fair third at Wincanton last October on latest hurdles outing and will be fairly straight after a spin on the Flat at Ascot earlier this month.
Forecasts
Gateway To Europe (9/4), Moabit (7/2), Doubly Clever (11/2), Percy Street (13/2), Ballon Onabudget (9/1), Kentford Heiress (11/1), The Sweeney (16/1), Tamarillo Grove (18/1), Capital Force (33/1)
Getting weight all round a chance is taken that PERCY STREET can return to winning ways having had a nice pipe-opener on the level at Ascot recently. Moabit will be a popular choice but there has to be a concern about him lasting home at this trip, a comment that applies equally to the lovable veteran course specialist Tamarillo Grove and to Capital Force. Kentford Heiress has sound claims and is feared, while both Doubly Clever and Gateway To Europe also have a chance on recent evidence.
- Percy Street
