Dandy Man filly out of a Halling mare who won over 6f in Qatar and is sister to 1m2f/1m4f AW Group 3 winner Hattan. A watching brief looks to be the advice on this belated debut.
10-race maiden under both codes and has yet to finish in the money in any of those starts. Beaten 20L when tried over further than this at Limerick and more recently Killarney, since back on the Flat. Readily opposed.
Daughter of Galileo; second foal; sister to 1m4½f winner Harpo Max. Dam an Australian sprint winner, including Group 1. Trainer among the winners and is 11% with her 3yos over five seasons. Interesting newcomer.
€1,800 yearling who has gone off at 150-1 in both starts so far, being well beaten at Limerick (1m4f, good) on debut and again at Cork when dropped back to this trip last time. Can only watch.
Has shown some ability in three similar efforts this season over 1m2f/1m4f. Got within 1½L in the winner when fifth at Leopardstown last month. Creditable second behind a decisive winner at Fairyhouse last time and should be a contender again.
Began with a very close second to subsequent Ribblesdale and Oaks second Ennistymon at Leopardstown last month. Was keen and also hung left when more anticipated at the Curragh next time. Even so, looks the form pick and hood could help.
Easy to back on debut when 20-1 in a fillies' maiden at the Curragh (1m, good) last month. Held there, when never a threat, and is probably one for handicaps further down the line.
Went close in a Leopardstown fillies' maiden (7f, good) last August, and even closer in a similar event at Tipperary next time. Not as good in either run since, but has the form to go close again if coming on for her reappearance.
Showed ability when a 2L fifth of 14 on debut at Leopardstown last August (7f, good), despite racing keenly there. Has taken a couple of backward steps since, so needs to raise her game again to compete with one or two in this field.
Filly by Teofilo who made a modest debut at Galway last year, but improved on that on her reappearance, when 6½L eighth in the same Leopardstown fillies' maiden as Shamiyna last month. Needs another big step up on that.
Forecasts
Shamiyna (15/8), Prose (5/2), Tasalka (4/1), Forbearance (4/1), Tejano (18/1), Silver St Cloud (20/1), Tashi (28/1), Sure Cert (100/1), Matilda With Me (150/1), Well Polly (200/1)
Forbearance looks an interesting newcomer, but this will probably go to one with positive experience to her name and that is most likely to be SHAMIYNA. Prose and Tasalka are the other pair whose form suggests will be thereabouts when it matters.
- Shamiyna
- Tasalka
- Prose
