Beat just one home in an eight-runner affair at Thirsk (7f; good) on debut. Cannot be fancied on that evidence, and likely to be a big-priced outsider in this field.

One of two runners in this race for the stable. It would be a surprise were he not capable of much more than he showed on debut given he cost a fair bit and is well-related. Likely improver.

Finished a distant seventh on debut at Pontefract (6f; good) over this trip and would need to come on quite considerably from that run to play a leading role in this contest. Others preferred given they have shown much more.

Holy Roman Emperor colt who cost €110,000 as a yearling and represents respected connections. This yard had a smart two-year-old winner at York at the weekend. Market check advised.

This is a marked drop in grade after he was chucked into the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot when last seen. Best to draw a line through that and judge him on his debut effort behind the smart Army Of India.
Best watched after finishing last of six when 10-length behind her nearest rival at Newcastle (6f; soft) on debut. Looks the stable second-string judged on jockey bookings.

Looked inexperienced on debut when fourth in a six-runner event at Thirsk (7f; good to soft). That didn't look a particularly bad race, and the drop to 6f may suit her better. Not one to dismiss easily.
Well-held on debut at Ayr (6f; soft) when seventh of eight. More was evidently expected (sent off 9-2) and it would be a surprise were she not capable of much better given how nice a type she looks on paper.

Newcomer by Ajaya. First foal. Dam was a winner over 5f on the AW and was a half-sister to a 6f winner. Should have a future but yard not firing on all cylinders just yet.

Forecasts

Science (10/11), Boogie Time (2/1), Royal Guard (9/1), Hedwig (11/1), Twilight Lucy (20/1), Umafika (25/1), Shesaheart (33/1), Maximum Risk (66/1), Dandini (80/1), Catherine's Girl (200/1)

Verdict

Plenty in with chances, and it is too early to write off the well-bred pair of Hedwig and Twilight Lucy despite the fact they disappointed on debut. Shesaheart is worth a mention and could place if able to progress from finishing fourth when last seen, as too could the newcomer Royal Guard but he may need further than this. For win purposes, this looks to concern Boogie Time and SCIENCE. The former ran in a warm race on debut, and the form has been well advertised since. However, preference is for the latter who bumped into a smart sort first time up himself, and this is easier than the Group Two contest he was seen in at Royal Ascot last month.

  2. Boogie Time
  3. Hedwig
