Starspangledbanner gelding out of 1m3f Fibresand winner. Didn't shine in two runs last month at Yarmouth and Doncaster and looks to have his work cut out once again. May eventually do better once going handicapping.

Footstepsinthesand gelding cost 100,000 euros as a 2yo and showed a little promise when fifth of 13 over 1m at Newbury last month. Beaten some way overall but should progress from that initial effort.

17,000gns Equiano out of juvenile Listed 5f winner. Bred for sprinting but showed little ability when distant last of 11 on C&D debut last month and needs to show great improvement to enter the reckoning.

Kyllachy gelding out of stable's 1000 Guineas winner Speciosa. Half-brother to three winners. Not disgraced when seventh on debut at Doncaster 7f in June last year but was last of 10 over 1m at Wolverhampton in October and not seen since.

Helmet colt whose sale price dropped from 36,000gns yearling to 12,000gns earlier this year. Half-brother to six winners at between 5f-1m6f. Makes first racecourse appearance for yard not known for debutant winners.

Gleneagles colt out of Listed 1m winner so looks the part on paper. Represents top yard with 20% three-year-old strike rate at this track and market should guide to expectation on this first racecourse appearance. Could be decent.

Kitten's Joy gelding, half-brother to five winners including Group 2 7f winner. Hasn't looked anything special in two runs so far and will do well to get involved here on evidence to date.

Excelebration filly out of unraced half-sister to Group 3 winner Saddlers Quest. Has a lot of work to do to bustle them up here having shown little to write home about in two modest efforts so far.

Pivotal half-sister to three winners at up to 1m4f. Looked green and struggled when well beaten 10th of 12 on debut 7f at Kempton last year and hasn't been seen for 11 more than months so is hard to recommend.

Camacho filly out of poor maiden. Didn't show too much and dropped away tamely from 2f out on first appearance over 1m at Lingfield in February and hasn't run since then. Probably needs more time.

US bred daughter of Blame out of 1m dirt winner. Half-sister won 1m4f AW. Did enough to suggest she can win races when promising three-and-a-half length fifth over C&D on debut last month and should be on the premises this time.

Forecasts

Kettle Hill (5/6), King's Knight (7/2), Minori (5/1), Burke And Wills (7/1), Kalfu (18/1), Helix (25/1), Blackcurantspangle (40/1), Just Albert (50/1), Grouseman (66/1), Art For Art's Sake (66/1), Excelfilly (100/1), Storming Jibreel (100/1), Charles Le Brun (150/1), La Poseur (150/1)

Verdict

The weaker of the two divisions of this mile contest and although the yard's newcomers often improve for their racecourse debut KETTLE HILL may be good enough to score at the first time of asking. He is bred to be decent and this isn't the hottest of course maidens. Minoris should be thereabouts having run a sound race here first time and will know more now, and King's Knight also hinted at ability on debut and should progress. Burke And Wills looks just about the best of the remainder.
  1. Kettle Hill
  2. Minori
  3. King's Knight
