Last five wins have come on AW incuding at Kempton in June 7f, and only beaten a length when fourth at Yarmouth on turf last time over 7f. Stays this trip but hasn't struck on this surface for over three years and has his share of weight.
All five wins have come at 5f-6f and debatable whether this step up to 1m is going to help the cause. 5lb lower than last winning rating but stamina has to be a major concern.
Won over C&D on seasonal return with something in hand and ran into an improver when distant second at Chepstow last time under his penalty. 4lb higher after being reassessed but is in good heart.
Six-race maiden who appears to stay this trip and not disgraced on first start back when slow away at Chelmsford before finishing three-and-a-half length sixth of 8. Eased 1lb and top jockey takes over so chance if getting away on terms with them.
Landed Leicester 1m h'cap last term for Adrian Nicholls but has looked out of sorts in two outings for current handler this summer. Only allowed 1lb for this moderate efforts and appears to have something to find on current form.
Five-time winner but has poor 1-38 record on turf. Stayed on when fourth over 1m at Kempton last month and is fairly weighted on the pick of his turf form. May find a few too good though.
Scored at 33/1 in C&D handicap last July off 9lb higher. Struggled for the most part since then but signs of a return to form when second on turf at Lingfield latest and is worth a second glance this time.
Fairly unexposed filly who made a winning start in handicaps when scoring over 1m at Chelmsford in February. Eyecatching fourth on return following the break at Chepstow recently and off 1lb lower very much comes into the reckoning.
Hinted at a little ability in two runs last term and scored at Wolverhampton last month in 7f maiden. Ran too bad to be true at Chelmsford last time and worth noting for any market interest making turf handicap bow for top jockey and trainer.
Yet to score in seven attempts but has shown enough to suggest it will only be a matter of time. Failed by just half a length at Kempton latest and has shown some form on turf in the past. Yard has 10% strike-rate here with this age group.
Wolverhampton extended 1m h'cap winner in November. Kept on nicely when second over C&D last time and off just 1lb higher and with stable having a few winners should be there or thereabouts once again.
Only the occasional sign of ability in seven unplaced efforts so far mainly at 6f-7f. Failed to stay when tried at 1m4f last time on return to action and this trip looks more realistic. Stable in decent form but has quite a bit to find.
Forecasts
Furqaan (7/2), Limelighter (4/1), Ascraeus (5/1), Treaty Of Dingle (6/1), Kodiellen (17/2), In The Red (17/2), I'm Digby (12/1), Black Medick (18/1), The Warrior (22/1), Spring Romance (28/1), Burniston Rocks (28/1), The Stalking Moon (66/1)
A competitive little race can go to BLACK MEDICK who looked ot be on the way back to peak form when a promising second at Lingfield last time out and looks handicapped to go close. Ascraeus was parked out wide all the way last time and ran poorly as a result but has a squeak on previous efforts and represents a top team, while Kodiellen also hails from a powerful yard and caught the eye with a fair effort recently at Chepstow. Furqaan and Limelighter are other with claims on the pick of their form.
- Black Medick
- Ascraeus
- Kodiellen
