Looked an excellent prospect when winning a 1¼m maiden at Newmarket in October by 5L on the bridle. Taken time to make his return, but remains one to keep on side.

Built on the promise of his debut third when landing a 1¼m novice at Doncaster from First Winter. Won with plenty in hand there, and type to go on to better things.

Dabirsim half-sister to useful winners Amarena (1¼m/1m3f) and Acadius (7f). Had two next-time-out winners behind when landing a 1m novice at Thirsk in August, and clearly not right on return at Kempton on return. Best to put a line through that run.

Full-brother to 1m winner Golden Hooves and useful 2-y-o 6f/7f winner East and half-brother to useful winner up to 7f Ashaadd. Represents same connections as Divina Gloria, so market will prove useful in separating them.
Full-brother to connections' useful 1¼m-1½m winner Pablo Escobarr. Slowly away and ran into traffic when an encouraging third of 11 to Fiesta de Vega in a 1¼m maiden at Haydock on debut, and sure to do better, so respected.

Good second on debut at Kempton (1m) last month, and built on that when second of 10 to Al Zaraqaan in a novice at Doncaster last time. Should continue to progress, and not taken lightly.

13/2
Built on the promise of his debut effort when 2¼L third of 12 to Matthew Flinders in a 1¼m novice at Doncaster last time. Not knocked about there, and has a 7lb pull at the weights now.

Better effort to date when fourth of 9 to Lady Sansa in a novice over this trip at Chelmsford last time. Should improve, although gives the impression he will relish a stiffer test in time.

Forecasts

Brentford Hope (6/4), Roberto Escobarr (4/1), Matthew Flinders (5/1), Semser (5/1), Thumur (13/2), Naval Commander (14/1), Calculus (20/1), Top Drop (66/1), Divina Gloria (100/1)

Verdict

A very deep event of its type given the time of year, and the penalised runners are taken to dominate, with preference for last autumn's impressive Newmarket winner BRENTFORD HOPE, although he'll have to be at concert pitch to account for the promising Matthew Flinders, who made a good impression at Doncaster recently. Thumur was third behind Matthew Flinders there, and is open to significant progress, so can't be ruled out.
  1. Brentford Hope
  2. Matthew Flinders
  3. Thumur
