Has turned a new corner form-wise recently, and made winning start for these connections in 6f Cork Listed race two weeks ago. Drops back to handicap company giving weight away all-round, but respected.
Yet to add to sole success in maiden last year but shaped well enough when 5L fifth in C&D handicap last month. Off the same mark in this and 3lb claim will help. Shortlisted.
Unexposed Fairyhouse maiden winner. Took the eye when staying on well for 3L fifth at Naas (6f) last month. May be ready for step up to this trip and would be dangerous to ignore.
Maiden winner last term but in poor form this season. Latest 11L sixth in 1m Naas handicap suggests she will need a bounce back to be competitive in this.
Unexposed. Landed Gowran maiden on seasonal return and not entirely disgraced when fifth in Leopardstown Group 3 (1m) on next start. Opening handicap mark is high enough however. Place claims.
Yet to really go on since 6f maiden win at this track last season. Showed glimpses of coming back to form when 4L seventh in Leopardstown Group 3 (7f) at the start of June and makes handicap debut for in-form connections.
Off the mark in May 2019 but yet to win since. Hung badly on debut start for this yard at Gowran (7f) in June and only eased 1lb in the weights since. Best watched in this.
Has been kept busy over the last couple of seasons but not really in the same form this term. Some promise when 4L seventh at Leopardstown (7f) last month and tends to get better with racing. Some claims.
Still unexposed despite gaining two victories already, including narrow win in 1m handicap at this venue last month. Not entirely suited by step back in trip or 6lb rise but has to respected for top yard.
Had been putting up some respectable efforts in defeat since Dundalk win in the winter but not as good on last two starts, including 7L sixth in 1m Bellewstown handicap this month. Remains 10lb above last winning mark.
Disqualified when winning at Dundalk in October and had appeared to be held since before good third at Bellewstown (1m) this month. Only 1lb above last winning mark now so not to be discounted.
Galway handicap winner last term but hasn't won since. Fared better than the result suggested when beaten 3L in 6f handicap here nine days ago and has some place considerations.
Failed to go on since maiden victory and well beaten in all starts since. Never figured when down the field in 6f handicap here last month and despite 4lb drop, looks to be best watched at present.
Dual winner of handicaps when trained in Britain. Looked to still be improving when 4L fifth in Naas handicap (7f) last month and goes off the same mark in this. Shortlisted.
Still a four-race maiden but has ran well in each start to date. Only beaten 2L in 1m Curragh handicap when last seen in June. This is tougher however but has some merit to her profile.
Looks to be one who performs better on the AW than the turf and seemingly confirmed that when never nearer seventh in 1m handicap at this venue last month. Gets respite on turf mark but others make more appeal.
Forecasts
Music To My Ears (9/2), Sonaiyla (11/2), Galtee Mist (7/1), Independent Missy (9/1), French Rain (10/1), Faire Croire (10/1), Orchid Gardens (11/1), Royal Highness (12/1), Titanium Sky (14/1), Stormy Belle (18/1), She's A Babe (20/1), Arletta Star (22/1), Memyselfandmoi (28/1), Between Hills (33/1), Point Reyes (50/1), Cool Vixen (66/1)
A very competitive handicap in which loads of promising sorts can stake claims, preference is for taking a chance with INDEPENDENT MISSY. While she didn't behave too well on her latest start, she would have arguably been closer if she had not missed the break but looked to be crying out for the step up to this trip. She remains on the same mark for this so is given another chance. Place claims can be made for improving sorts French Rain, Galtee Mist and Titanium Sky based on their recent promising efforts - the latter has a top claimer on board - while Sonaiyla could be a classy sort on her recent Listed victory, but would need to be a pattern stakes performer to win off a welter weight.
- Independent Missy
- French Rain
- Galtee Mist
