Not in the same form as he was earlier in the year (dual 1m2f AW winner) when returning from three months off to try 1m4f for the first time. Beaten by more than the longer trip (caught wide), now back at 1m (0-8) and on turf (0-7), others stronger.

Lightly-raced 4yo making a belated handicap/turf debut having shown some useful form in first two minor events over much longer trips. Below-par when last seen over 1m4f, now tries 1m off what looks a fair mark, interesting to see if support arrives.

Built on some useful previous efforts last year to score back-to-back wins at Windsor/Epsom over 8.1f/8.5f (good run of form soon came to a halt). Hasn't regained his form this year both efforts below-par despite being off a reduced mark.

Knocking at the door since his return to action going close in a first-time visor at Bath (1m, good), building on some good efforts. On the downside he did look less than hearty in the finish, usual blinkers now return in attempt to reverse fortunes.

Surprisingly dropped further 1lb off the back of a sound run over C&D last time under today's inexperienced apprentice (was having his first ride). Could have done with a stronger gallop (held up); stays 1m2f, good chance under a more positive ride.

Both wins achieved at Yarmouth over a straight 1m last win coming there in May 2019 in a curtailed season. Two of if his three runs this year have been creditable, the latest a dead-heat fourth over 7f at Yarmouth, return to 1m will suit.

Fair form throughout 2019 accruing three AW Polytrack wins but all at different tracks. Turf form (0-5) is a worry as he tries this surface once more, looked to need his last run after ten months off, had to recommend given previous turf efforts.

AW 1m winner at Chelmsford when with David Lanigan but has yet to reach the same level for this yard in five AW starts. Now given her turf debut for this yard after a fair absence; remains 5lb above last winning mark, others appeal more.

Non-runner on his last two starts (good/firm ground) it would appear he's best with some give underfoot although all his racing has been done on AW. Fair form when he has been seen but his lack of turf form undermines his chance if he takes part.

Unexposed when showing improved form to gain her maiden win on second handicap start dropped into 0-65 company at Lingfield over 1m2f. Got a good ride from a wide draw, travelled well, ought to cope with trip/return to turf off career-high mark.

Kept to the AW since joining this yard until last time when finished held in midfield over C&D off 5lb higher (should be sharper for run). Win in lower grade (0-60) on AW earlier in he year over 7.2f shows he has ability, does need to improve though.

Verdict

In terms of strength this division is very similar to the first with two of the three females in the field looking the most interesting contenders. Casual Reply has a lovely pedigree and connections will be keen to see her win a race although the step back to a 1m looks strange in light of her performances so far over further. Still it’s clear she has ability although VOICE OF CALM is preferred having shown improved form last time and even off 4lb higher mark looks to have some scope to move forward given her Lingfield win. Tell William needs to find a little more application in a finish and Isomer is preferred for a spot in the frame despite looking as though a longer trip would suit.
