C&D winner, good solid reappearance run at Musselburgh after nine months off over 12.5f to finish second albeit she had the run of the race. Might not get such an easy time upfront here but nonetheless merits consideration off same mark.
In top form over hurdles during last jumps season, may well have needed the run when returning on the Flat last time (wore cheekpieces/tongue-tie combination first time on Flat). Well supported on that occasion she's dropped to a workable mark.
A return of 1-24 hardly sets the pulse racing the win coming last year when dropped in trip (11.2f) and given an attacking ride. Below-par on the one run since then (more patient tactics used over 18.1f), not hard to have doubts over his aspirations.
Yet to win for this yard (0-11), form he showed when just behind Lizzie Loch at Musselburgh looks exaggerated by good track position. Not in the same form at Thirsk last time (no surprise given profile), below last winning mark, hardly convincing.
Been a good servant to the yard but looks firmly on the downgrade now having not won since September 2018. Well below that last winning mark (72) her three starts this year (post wind surgery) have been disenchanting, has been starting slowly.
A change of headgear (first-time blinkers) appeared to induce a better run last time at Thirsk (14f, good/firm), finishing a close second (finishing effort still suspect). Runs off a 3lb lower mark here, often starts slowly, hard to trust but must en
The three quick runs over lesser trips than he faces here in June appear to have been with handicaps as the end product. Bred to stay well (wears first-time cheekpieces) he looks capable of more upped in trip on debut in this sphere, note a market mo
Respectable fourth last time out at Thirsk when returning from four-months off over 14f (yet to conclusively prove he stays that trip). Visor now added to his usual tongue-tie, faces some stronger stayers, yet to win on turf (0-12).
Failed to impress when returning from a three-month break on the AW last time at Chelmsford (10f, slow). Overall record reads 1-24, hard to work up much enthusiasm for his chance on the basis of this year's evidence.
Better known as a fair handicap hurdler; lightly-raced on the Flat varied events for former yard (Richard Price). Now makes stable debut having been well below form over hurdles when last seen (December 2019), others offer greater scope.
Still searching for his first win (0-12) although he did produce one of his better efforts last time over 10f here, getting outpaced before keeping on at the finish. Just out of the weights again and up significantly in trip, needs others to falter.
Offered very little in first-time cheekpieces when last seen on Fibresand in March over 12.1f, raced off the pace but looked very laboured. Overall looks a poor maiden who will struggle even in this fairly modest company.
Forecasts
Lizzie Loch (7/2), Strict (9/2), Mamdood (5/1), One Last Hug (11/2), Bollin Neil (11/2), Calliope (10/1), Samson's Reach (14/1), Ezanak (16/1), Hugoigo (20/1), Question Of Faith (20/1), Onda District (50/1), Showshutai (80/1)
An unpretentious staying handicap to end proceedings with even the leading lights in this having some questions to answer therefore it may pay to speculate on the chance of handicap newcomer BOLLIN NEIL. Given his preparation and pedigree he looks as though this has been the plan for him and it won’t be a surprise to see him take a step forward here. Lizzie Loch already a C&D winner represents some recent sold form and she’ll be a danger if getting free on the lead. Strict had two of today’s rivals in Mamdood (not certain to stay) and Ezanak (modest form of late) behind him when second last time but his finishing effort did contain signs of waywardness.
- Bollin Neil
- Lizzie Loch
- Strict
