Last win came at Newcastle (10f) over a year ago, and thanks to his consistency, he's not getting much respite of the handicspper either. Trip probably fine but might prefer better ground, so needs it to keep drying up.

Twice a winner around this time last year when joining this yard, but has found life harder from higheer marks since then. Solid enoguh effort on reappearance though, and with no trip/ground worries he could come on from that and take a hand.

Still 5lb higher than last win, which came at Haydock amost two years ago, and there was little promise in his last of 11 at Pontefract last month, weakening quickly. Others readily make more appeal.

Useful dual purpose horse and he turned in a good effort over C&D on his latest start, staying on well late in the day for second. Should be cherry-ripe fitness wise now, yard going well and he looks one of the better options today.

Just one win in 19 starts but on the plus side, it came over this trip and with plenty of cut, so has his plus points. Only beaten a length on latest start at Doncaster too, but that overall win record means he might be playing for a place.

Two good runs recently, the last of them coming at Ayr earlier in the week when staying on for third over 10f. This trip something of an unknown but he shapes as if he's worth a go at it, and he can't be discounted as he's in good heart.

Twice a winner over hurdles last year but a bit below par on the Tapeta on Newcastle in January and not been since since. Not hard to think he'll need this run, and best watched today.

Useful hurdler, won four times in that sphere last year and looked much improved. Should strip fitter for a run out at Haydock last month and this mark looks very workable if he's fitter for that. Ground shouldn't be a problem, and he has chances.

Runner-up in a 9f seller here last Septmeber (soft ground) but stays this far and acts with some cut in the ground, so has some plus points. Not a bad effort on reappearance at Newcastle last month and this could be a suitable test.

Just one win in 24 starts and hasn't been seen out since disappointing over hurdles at Musselburgh last November. Hard to see why he should be good enough here.

Forecasts

Heart Of Soul (85/40), Multellie (10/3), Snookered (6/1), Funny Man (6/1), Grandee (15/2), The Navigator (11/1), Native Fighter (25/1), Firlinfeu (25/1), Akamanto (100/1), Astute Boy (100/1)

Verdict

This looks a suitable opportunity for the consistent MULTELLIE and he can score again. He likes it here, having won three of his eight starts and this trip suits, so with no ground issues and a good recent effort under his belt, can get his head in front. Snookered knows how to win when the opportunity arises and he too should come on a bit for a recent run at Haydock, and might be the danger. Heart Of Soul tends to hit the frame rather than win and that might be the case again today. The Navigator could be a danger if he stays.
